I'm thinking maybe the 200. Seriously doubt I'll be capable of doing the 300 or 400 unless I find a way to seriously up the miles beforehand.

There will also be some Sunday rides.

Turns out that the 400 doesn't go to Bala, and the off road bits finish before Dolgellau (Cors Caron, Claerwen, Garreg Ddu - Craig Goch, NCN818 from Cwmystwyth and NCN82 from Llanegryn - Arthog). It's still definitely not an easy ride, but now it's not sounding impossible.

Us seen the thread and I wanna do one of these but iv not a clue which one or what I'm capable of achieving in the times required ?

Mike, you can do more than you think, just feed yourself and get your head in the right place. Plus a bit of planning and training!
Re: This Is Not A Tour - new Audax events in memory of Mike
Steve speaks good sense (quite often, not just in this thread!) but the time limits are just to get audax points. As there are longer events at the same time the finish will be open for much longer than if it was just a 2/300.Mike wrote:Us seen the thread and I wanna do one of these but iv not a clue which one or what I'm capable of achieving in the times required ?
The populaire rides have pretty generous lower speeds. I'm sure they would be doable with a bivy if you wanted.

Just a reminder that entries open tomorrow (Oct 1st) ... I can see it being popular, so 'book early'

The slow 300 on a mountain bike seems most appealing, will give time to sleep

300 slow for me. Was (oddly) tempted by the 400 but there's some climbs that I really can't stand. Likely carry some very minimal kit and make a night of it ... it's June, it'll be dry, right?

I've just realised this is the same weekend the Tuscany Trail starts
Kind of promised myself I'd be going next year.

300 slow entered which I'm hoping to add a few rougher sections too ... should be plenty of time.

Are these prescribed routes like bb200 or are they routes like WRT so long as you make the checkpoints?Bearbonesnorm wrote:300 slow entered which I'm hoping to add a few rougher sections too ... should be plenty of time.

They are prescribed routes but there's a couple of sections (like Happy Valley) where the off-road alternate is much more fun.Are these prescribed routes like bb200 or are they routes like WRT so long as you make the checkpoints?
