Anyhoo its my new pipe dream 250 and a couple folding ti sporks.

Now i didnt realise the pipedream 250 didnt come with a compression sack or a storage bag - just a lightweight stuff sack - so i guess i need another vortex for storage - would a dry bag be a good substitute for a compression sack or should i just pony up for a compression sack ?

lightweight stuff sack > compression bag IMHO.

My pipedream 400 (back in the day...!) came with lightweight stuff sack (gets used most of the time when bikepacking), a compression sack (gets used if kipping on someones floor and being packed in a large duffel bag) and a large cotton storage bag.
I use a vortex bag to store one of my other sleeping bags though.

its quite a bulky bag in the "lightweight stuff sack" - bulk is ~ weight imo. it could be half the size it is for the sake of 60 grams ill go down that route. as it is it doesnt even fit in my sweetroll without a fight.

but yeah no cotton sack either :( - not that it lists one but a review of the older pipe dreams on youtube mentioned it hence my surprise.

Ill find an old pillow case for it at home.

It works very well. So far, I've only done a bank of carbs with it but the results were quite impressive ... knowing that it's also cleaning all the bits you can't see / get too is a real bonus. I'm not really sure it could replace a parts washer - you're not sticking a cyclinder head in it for example but it's a very handy bit of kit for those of us who can't leave things alone.

I think one shall go on the wishlist then

This one runs 26" wheels Ben, decidedly odd looking yet at the same time, a thing of great beauty.

I always had an issue with the Revo in that it never lived up to my expectations (albeit I began to think they may have been a bit high). On the road as a commuter it was fine, off road I never achieved all four LED's.

I searched for alternatives and came across the Klite, a number of emails later to get more information from Kerry and I pressed the button. The Klite is a 700/1200 lumen 3 LED unit as opposed to the 400/800 4 LED of the Revo. As I understand it the driver (?) that is required for the extra LED on the Revo is what causes the issue with requiring a much higher speed to achieve all the LED's to illuminate. Kerry helped design the Revo.

It's built very nicely, using a 3D printer for the brackets and switch box. The connector to the hub is pre-wired and heat shrinked with a variety of brackets for different diameter handlebars.

A gentle ride up the road (hill) and the difference in brightness to the Revo is obvious from the off. There is a nice spread and throw. The switch box has a high drag and low drag setting, high drag for lower speeds = brighter light, low drag for higher speeds (road) = slightly dimmer light. The difference in drag though isn't noticeable even just spinning the wheel in the garage.

Full illumination is at 11 mph, 1200 lumens, the spread and throw is stunning, I can see my Equinox being redundant.

Hoping for a night ride Friday, on and off road to test it properly.

The webs site is confusing hence about a dozen emails to him. The stand light looks as bright as the Revo, if not brighter. Not sure how long it lasts yet, I went to bed with it still lighting up the garage a good 30 minutes later.

I'm assuming it'll be coming to Italy so i can have a gander?
