I'd have a splitty tomorrow if I had somewhere dry to keep it; just love those old vans
Anyway, also like the look of this:

A rather swanky Bearbones jersey and a delightfully green WRT T-Shirt just showed up. Good stuff. :)

Woah, 32MB RAM for 1993 was quite a lot. These days it's hilarious!

But it was probably coded so efficiently it's still usable today

'Coded efficiently'. Nail on head. 1977 DECsystem-10, 1Mb (yes, one), me and **127** other users. 2016 Windoze filth, 4Gb, and it can't even support ME never mind 127 others. 'Graphics' you say? Pah.

Wow, we've discovered a vein of previously undiscovered geekery on a scale we've not seen before...!

"vein of previously undiscovered geekery". Absolutely. I reckon you could string pretty much any letters and digits together with a "-" and maybe a "/" and you've got a real computer or processor of some sort.
Geekery? Just don't start me on my Quantum Theory of Bikepacking.

Geekery? Just don't start me on my Quantum Theory of Bikepacking.
On Monday Wednesday and Friday Bike Packing is run by God using Electro Magnetic Theory.
On Tuesday Thursday and Saturday it is run by the devil using Quantum Theory.
I didnt get where I am today by not knowing this.

It's the whole business of my bike being in two places at exactly the same time which I'm battling with at the moment. Also I'm usually pretty good at measuring my momentum so that means I've no idea what my position is - ie. I'm well and truly lost which sounds normal for me.

Are we talking Minkowski four dimensional space time continuum or more Heart of Gold with Zaphod at the controls?
If you are going to Bearstock we can discuss this over a few beers when all will become clear.

A very well packaged bottle of Smidge and a cheap 8 in 1 torx tool with tiny bits.
Which means my Garmin Oregon now has a full quota of battery contacts again and isn't bodged with a folded bit of tin foil!

Very slinky those are Pickers. "foresee a day of skinned shins" - some spoonerism possibilities there I think.... and I bet you couldn't say it fast five times.
Anyway, today I am mostly opening parcels of:
- "Bikepacking" by McJannet - it's alright I suppose. Bit too much "I went down this bridleway.. looked at that scenery..listened to those birds". Could've done with more funny stories, people he met and talked to, and loads more about how he bivvied, what kit he used etc etc. And DON'T ask Stu about all those fires

.
- "History Of The Dylife Mines" by Brown - great stuff. If you want another nerdy subject, how about caving and mine exploring, I love it. I'm still trying to work out how to combine it with bikepacking. Have kipped in a couple of caves but not with bike yet, and you can MTB tour a mine if you fancy (
http://www.bikenomad.com/en/main/underground).
-"Extreme Sleeps" & "Wild Nights" by Phoebe Smith.
So plenty to read in the bath there.
Oh, and an extra seat tube strap for my Koala, which kept slipping sideways away from the post at the bottom end, during WRT. (freebie, thanks Alpkit).

"History Of The Dylife Mines" by Brown - great stuff.
He lives just up the road, very nice fella. Obviously, the entire area is dotted with old mines, there's plenty in the forest here and I still keep discovering more from time to time.
