I bought a Lidl bandsaw a couple of years ago (albeit named differently) and it was rubbish - in fact bits snapped / fell off as I was putting it together. I then bought a small Scheppach and while I'm under no illusions that it too is likely made in China, it's very good (especially once you replace the blade with something better) ... quality of the saw is far better than the first one for not much more money.
Thought Aldi/Lidi were rebadged Scheppach but maybe it's changed.

Was just about to mention that as well, but then noticed that it was for "mailing list subscribers only". So I emailed Steven to ask if he'd mind if we aired it to all and sundry, as above

. As it happens he doesn't mind

. There's a discount code, prospective unsubscribed purchasers could PM one of us to obtain it, rather than giving it out to the whole world straightaway

.

I'm cool with the promotion being widely available. The whole point is to sell stuff after all ;-) And you boners seem like a good bunch.
Anyway, the discount code is 'doofus25' for 25% off Lion and Tiger (Drover) harnesses.

Good shout. £22.49 with the code XMAS10. Are these just the same as the Electrons? Had a couple of pairs and they're great, particularly at that price. Good colour choices too, which is of course important

Yeah, they're the updated version of the Electrons IIRC. I have both types and they're equally good. Great spot woodsmith, I needed a new pair for my pending dream fat bike build.
