In other cheery news, BB200/300 entries open tomorrow - that's come around quick! Except I'll be riding my bike around the NYM...

I was planning on setting an alarm, stopping mid trail and attempting to book a spot. Just hope wherever I stop has enough phone signal... 🤣

Thanks you lot

BB200/300... yes I knew that was coming around, but hadn't twigged that it's tomorrow. Well, let's get one stupid thing out of the way first, and see.

It's also the start of the Tour de France tomorrow, which I realise may split the room, but I'm a bit partial, Eurosport having been a background to most of my childhood Julys (possibly by default as the only free satelite sports channel). I may also have a work trip to Lyon coinciding with the second week, so may even manage to see some in person for the first time, which would be pretty special.

Same here.

CF. 2 more minutes in the train, 10 min walk. The I pick up two bikes. My 6 year "old" big trail bike made ready for sale with some new parts and a new big trail bike with some parts from the old bike and some new.

Oh, that's good news - I missed the ITV4 highlights for the Giro. It was either the 5 minute highlights on GCN which doesn't really give much of a feel for what's happening, or an hour's highlights in Welsh on S4C, which doesn't give me much more.

Congrats Northwind - we did similar a few years ago. Civil partnership after 32 years together, and the only witnesses were our daughter and sons girlfriend. The only hats allowed were bobble hats. Went back to work in the afternoon!

You almost spoilt my month saying that, praise the lord it’s on.

Yeah, it’s a shame ITV4 don’t do the Giro, have the GCN channel but kept forgetting to tune in (and their highlights aren’t as good as ITV…)

That’s excellent news Northwind, congratulations (and what an vaguely exciting way to get married - we had 80? daytime guests which wasn’t my cup of tea)

Very cheery Saturday, in Bilbao cheering on the Yates twins to 1,2 in the TdF. Moving along to San Sebastian for tomorrow and Monday then the Tourmalet

Sounds good Stu! I will in fact be exchanging my usual framebag between the knees for an engine and heading up to my pals place on Speyside, possibly to drown whilst sitting in a small rubber dingy...

As well as looking forward to a weekend mostly spent on my bike, right cheery Friday when I heard that a young lad "we" (as in the work royal "we") have been working with, who crashed off his mountain bike and ended up paralysed in a wheelchair, has not only had his home adapted so he can live independently, but has also been able to get back to work, and is back riding bikes, using a hand bike - how totally cheery Friday is that???
