The boost 110 fork from the ICAN Stache ripoff.
http://www.icanbikes.com/html/MTB/PAINT ... E/321.html
Communication was good, the parcel tracking worked well, and it arrived quicker than they estimated. Shame they didn't check the thread on the dropout.
I'm waiting for them to confirm the required tap, then will get someone at work to sort it and order a new thru-axle. The rest of the fork is tidy enough. I got them to get me through winter.
I'm currently waiting for the UK Manitou distributor to accept my warranty claim on my Magnums that developed a 4cm vertical score on the stanchion in the course of a ride. They are trying to tell the LBS that it's cosmetic. Unfortunately, you can catch your nail on it, and the mechanic is saying that grime will always get behind the seal now. The mechanic has a Stache 7 so is motivated to ensure that they stand behind the fork.

Re: The post man's been ...
This morning the postman deposited one very shiny and massively exciting Singular 'Rooster' frameset, a Hope/Hugo wheelset, some 29 * 3" Chupacabra tyres and some lovely XT 1 x 11 cranks.
Many cheers to Sam at Singular for getting this all sorted in time for the BB200.
Just need to built it up with some bits from my Solaris and I'll be good to go.
Now just waiting to see what evilness Stu has in store for us when the route arrives.....

You've misunderstood. I'm not brave, just incredibly dumb!Richard G wrote:Doing the BB200 on a completely new bike setup? You, sir, are very brave.
But.....all of the points of contact are tried and tested and the geometry isn't far from what I'm used to so it'll be fine I'm sure.
Yep! One that is at least only painful in a way I'm used to.Bearbonesnorm wrote:Good saddle?
The thing that's likely to save me is the industrial strength nappy cream I've got.
Made all the difference on a few big rides this year!

Re: The post man's been ...
Mrs Scattamah sent a few odds 'n sods across the pond for me...my spare Eggbeater 3's...an Inspired to Ride tee...and something Billy Rice told me about this year out on the trail...Chilli Cheese Fritos :) 1600 calories in under 300 grams and enough salt to kill an elephant. Perfect bikepacking food and wouldn't surprise me if they're banned here.

More fun arrived today. A pair of Wolverines to give me a bit more grip for the inevitable grassy sections coming up this weekend (would rather not go sliding off the side of a mountain)...and some 24oz Monsters from a US store over here...I don't seem to be able to find them in the UK stores.

Loads of stuff!
Wheels for the cross bike - Stan's alpha rims on pro evo2 hubs. So I can run my dying kinesis wheels off road and the new ones tubeless on road.
Hope skewers, tubeless tape and valves from superstar.
New cassette and rotors (for the wheels).
Not bike related but some 5.11 tdu ripstop trousers too for outdoor duties. Probably the hardest wearing and well made trousers I've ever seen!

Last Saturday, a quilt from UK Hammocks.

I finally took the plunge and bought a quilt for hammocking in. Just had time to try it out under my tarp on the lawn before going away on holiday for a few days. Toasty!
