Some castelli nano flex knee warmers from the sports pursuit website.
They seem good so far, very comfy, and much more compact than bulky merino ones I had been using. They also stay in place better.

I've got a cumulus quilt but I must be quite a cold sleeper, as I find its just not warm enough.
I had a expend ul7 mat but upgraded this to a downmat which I hope will help, this arrived a few days ago.
Also to extend the use of my quilt instead of buying a more expensive sleeping bag, I have received my PHD filler bag. Not tried it out yet, but it is very nicely made.
Hopefully doing a weekend in Shropshire in a few weeks.

Sounds fun. Er, what you doing with the ECU for removing o2 sensor - or is that er forcing it into open loop mode or whatever? I dunno enough about engine control strategies to comment any further though...

It's basically just a resistor in a connecter to make the ecu think there's something there.
Same for the secondary air system I'm pulling out too

I have about 3 different air systems on the Rex - one of them is just to pump more air into the cat to get it to work quicker on start-up, then other flaps and stuff at different revs for more performance etc. Half the car (airbox, ECU, other computers, battery and a bunch of other gubbins including the engine mounts) are in the house at the moment whilst I muster up the willpower to drain the cooling system and replace the rusty crossmember
Bike related stuff, got 2 new bearings and a freehub for the kinesis crosslight wheels. £20 for bearings, £45 for the freehub (coz I supported a local business...this means it costs more and takes longer

) and then had fun changing them - a bigger hammer did the trick in the end

Still, no more clunking on the way to work now - however I'm not all that impressed that it was buggered after less than 10k miles. I have however worked out that one of the seals was put in backwards causing excess drag on the freehub - and in the meantime have done experimentations with lots of different types of oils and the effects/longevity of them on freehub pawls
(p.s. gearbox oil makes them dead smooth and quiet, but coz it's so thin, it doesn't last long).

A Cumulus Quilt 150 following on from this thread
http://bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/phpBB ... f=7&t=6217 - slightly delayed because it got delivered to our neighbour yesterday but he only came round with it this evening.
A quick question - there are three shockcord loops across the underside, two are large and about 150cm in length but the middle one is maybe only 15cm long. I assume that I need to replace this with one of the spare cords supplied with the bag?

Having seen other cumulus quilts the top two go under the mat and the bottom of the three is just to keep the quilt taut, reducing stress on the zip/top of the cut out.

It's actually the middle not the bottom one, Stuart's review of it
http://bearbonesbikepacking.blogspot.co ... ested.html simply mentions three loops

Shock cords go, long (wrap around the mattress), short (on top on the mattress, so you lay on it), long code (wrap around the mattress)
