Body is a really crazy thing. I upped my intake significantly last week and continued to lose weight.

I guess it's possible that my burn was much higher than I realised.

Weighing when I remember to...yesterday I was sitting on 68Kg. Been back on the bike 3 times in the past week and eating like a pig when I can but keeping the calorie count low. Had a couple of days recently where I've been glued to the keyboard and not exercising and thus not requiring huge energy input - maybe get 800 calories down on those days.

Norway:. I'm away from home at the moment so I'll have to skip this weigh in, but I'm still in for the long haul.
Seems a common theme at the moment that people are having a stressful time, same here, some problems with a renovation we are doing, which is 4 hours from where we live and means staying with the mother in law! I have a strong feeling that the weight may actually be going the wrong way, (with her refusal always offends), too much traditional fatty food.
Keep going everyone some excellent progress being made.

Well numbers are down as week 6 figures have come and gone - I know its hard to keep at these things, that's why I satrted this in the first place. Together we can be stronger.

Hopefully this is correct as of today.

Big thank you to all that are still posting their measurements! Working on a "prize" for week 10... watch this space :-)

Ugh... this last bit of weight is the worst. For the first time pretty much ever I think I'll be going to bed hungry. Normally I'd have some red cabbage or pickled onions to nibble on if I was hungry but somehow I ran out and haven't restocked.

Hopefully just another few weeks left though.

Well done everyone. Hopefuly it's all starting to feel a bit more 'normal' now.

As an aside I've been conducting my own little experiment which has resulted in a loss of 8lb over the last 4 weeks ... quite enjoying it.

Well done everyone!

I'll be weighing myself and updating my numbers when I get home.

We've had 3 sets of people out visiting over the last few weeks and life's been a little hectic so not really paid enough attention to my weight (as I'm guessing my numbers will show).

Big (174km) road ride yesterday which was great and got me in the mood to step things up a notch exercise-wise.

Where does the fat go when you lose weight? An interesting question, answered in this TED talk…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuIlsN32WaE

There are big implications for the impact riding has on weight loss, in addition to dieting.

One depressing aspect of that is that you can't actually lose fat cells (without surgery), all you do when you lose weight is shrink them. If you were fat as a kid, then you have more fat cells than those who were skinny as kids (we really don't make many as an adult) and you'll always be more prone to putting on fat than those people (body is quicker to store energy as fat if you have more fat cells).

Don't let your kids get too fat!

I had another body scan this week and have lost 1.5kg of fat and gained a mighty 300g of muscle.

Still got more to go i think....

Apologies, I've been extremely lax over this I'm afraid. I've had, er. Competing interests of late and my mind/focus has been elsewhere.

Also, I acquired a new set of scales which read 2.5-3.0 kg higher than my old ones.

So, I weighed in at 110.8 on the new ones (108 on the old). With your approval NC I'd like to go back and revise up the readings to reflect the more accurate scales...

Oh, and take this more seriously...

Have just realised I've hit the lowest weight I've ever recorded (I only write the averages in on the weekend). I likely haven't been this light since when I ran out of food in the first year of university (a very, very long time ago).

Little bit more to go and I'm looking forward to maintaining for a while.

It is. Although currently in Tenerife on a first-time winter sun holiday and not following it so much...

I get why people do winter holidays though! 25c today, light breeze. The sea is18 and lively to swim in.

Have a hired road bike and brought bivy kit. Thinking I'll do my February bivy st altitude here :ugeek:

I think it might be time to stop losing weight. My barber seemed concerned that I was dying of something. lol

He started by saying I was looking tired, and after I explained about losing weight intentionally he said that he didn't really want to ask if I was properly sick.
