Anyone staying at Bron Y Llys near Dylife the night before?
I recall Zigrat (Bryan) said he was staying there.

And, my clutch decided it's not going to play nice on the way to work!
We are heading over from Sheffield leaving at 4pm Friday. Have space for person and bike if needed.
an excellent offer, thanks Ian.
I have the car booked in for a new master cylinder tomorrow morning, and in the case of it not being ready. The good Mrs FLV says I can borrow her car.
So, I'm covered it seems.
Thanks again though!
(I really must buy a newer / more reliable vehicle)

Bike test complete (30 mins). Nothing fell off (this is good), my newly made USB cable works and I've even found a sachet of chain lube to take round with me 8-)

You is sorted
I've still got a flat rear tyre, lights that need charging, wood to cut for the brazier on Sunday, gazebos to sort out, signs to put up, tipi to erect, signing on sheets to print off (hopefully people have stopped withdrawing now), etc, etc, etc ... I'm kinda hoping the ride will be a rest

Stuart,
Do you want a couple of bags of logs? I can chuck some in the car and bring them... Might help out a little.

That would be fantastic, thank you very much.

I don't think I'm going to risk leaving the waterproof behind

This is my ride for the weekend. Might be under 30lbs, but haven't weighed it:

That looks like quite a lot for you Ian?

I think it's just the picture :?
I'm using an XS size Exped dry bag (sleeping bag, bivvy bag, spare top). Food in the H-bar bag. Bit more food, gillet and first aid kit in frame bag. Tools in saddle bag.
Overall, I think it's less than last year, where I had a small Tiger fitted too.

Maybe the picture then. Just seemed to be quite a lot around the bars.

Well heading out to Newtown now. Hope it's better weather in Wales than it is here; been raining all morning.

Bit grey and overcast with the odd (very, very light) bit of drizzle. Wind is NE which is making it feel much colder than it really is.
I'm ready to roll
That is superb

Brilliant, I took a bike as pillion to the Alps once, you might want to consider a reflector on the rear there, I got pulled once by the cops, they just wanted a look, but recommended one, I used to mount the wheels on the side of the cycle frame so it was easy to make a travelling rear squewer with a big triangular truck reflector.
sorry for the thread hijack :?

You're right Ian, it's all very quiet ... maybe everyone has taken the advice of Shakespeare.
'Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die'
Well Chew's arrived this afternoon having ridden down to help out over the weekend. He's just been fed and has now retired for the evening ... any problems tomorrow you'd best see him or Flatfishy, 'tis nowt to do with me

Good luck to you all.
Where has this year gone?
I hope it stays dry as we're going away to North Wales as well.
Enjoy yourselves :D

Good luck all those taking part! I'll be following the trackers once I finish the wood flooring! Hoping to get there next year, as my focus is on getting fit and confident enough to do so!

good luck everyone - trying not to sulk too much here.
Will definitely be back to do next years - even if i have to leave the kids at home with a stack of videos for the weekend . . . either that or get them to do it too, not sure which would be worse in terms of child crulety!

Already seen some great times on Strava... looking forward to photos (if only of the aftermath) and stories.
Well done to everyone who had a crack this year :)

Flippin' heck. It was tough at the sharp end this year. 13 hours 58 mins. Beat last years time by 1 hour 20 mins, but not enough to match a flying Phil Simcock, who was a whole 50 mins faster. My effort logged here:
