I'm posting mine a day early this week as I'm off beerpacking in an hour
Riding 130km each way on quiet roads and gravel tracks down to Turin with two buddies to sample an amazing 40 tap craft beer pub that I found down there a couple of years ago (as I limped home from my failed TNR attempt).
So.....it would appear that my weight did not fair well after two weeks of solo parenting, desperado eating panic and self-medicating via beer in the evenings - who knew??!
Right back up to January's weight for me - boo!
01-01-2019 - 115.7kg
04-01-2019 - 114.5kg
11-01-2019 - 113.9kg
18-01-2019 - 113.7kg
25-01-2019 - 114kg
01-02-2019 - 113.3kg
08-02-2019 - 114kg
15-02-2019 - 114.5kg
22-02-2019 - 114.9kg
01-03-2019 - 114.5kg
21-03-2019 - 115.3kg
Right, a couple of long days in the saddle and then some dietary restraint should see me back on the right path.....
Good luck everyone got tomorrow's weigh-in and I'll update everything as/when I can.

Still in Norway, will update next week. HOPEFULLY a drop in weight (as I have been being "good").

Solid week. Hoping to take another half kg or so off next week as I'm almost certainly going to put on at least 2kg when I'm in the US the week after.

I had a bad week and wasn't at home to weigh myself and since then I've had a fairly good week right up until last night. I'll take staying level for 2 weeks as a win

Ive not been near my scales for ... ooooh, 3 weeks I think. They mock me, they do. They know the truth. Which is I've been back to comfort eating because I'm stressed about my job, too many ready meals because I'm working long hours and can't be arsed cooking. I've been on my bike twice in that time, admittedly one was a good long bivvy night out, but, seriously.
What do you do when you feel like reaching for a packet of crisps?

I don't have them in the house, because I know I'd devour all of them. :D

I’m not the person to ask, i’ve got a son who is a very faddy eater so the house is full of tempting snacks for when we need to try and get some calories in to him. There’s two cupboards in the kitchen I try to avoid opening

Unfortunately I usually end up reaching for a packet of crisps
I'm a master at tricking myself into doing what I know I shouldn't do and then I seem to come around and realise what I've done as I'm doing it.
Also seems to work in cycles for me. If I feel I'm getting somewhere then I'll be able to use that momentum to refrain from lapsing. Inversely, if I'm stuck in a rut of lazy choices and poor eating then I tend to continue until something snaps me back into 'try again and this time I mean it' mode.
It's not easy being lean!

Just don't eat them... you know this, everyone knows this.
I have a particularly stressful job and work 13 to 14 hr shifts (and in this case, no days off in the last 3 weeks) but don't stuff the crap in my face because of it. Just like any addictive relationship, sometimes you just have to say "no, i'm stronger than that". The yearning for a Chinese is so strong sometimes, it physically hurts (well that's how it feels because of my brain tells me this) and lets be honest here, I go and get one. But only once a month a max, the rest of the time I can resist...
Someone once said to me "the feeling of hunger is just fat leaving the body" ...pile of rubbish but it has stuck with me. So if I feel stressed and feel like comfort eating... I don't as sooner or later, tummy rumbles..."fat leaving the body" etc. i also found taking a toothbrush/paste to work and cleaning my teeth when desperate for a snack (not because of calorie deficit, but mental "must have") helped a lot (as it removed the craving for some odd reason... a tip from quiting smoking apparently).
I am no expert and this food thing is a living hell if you let it be. When I started this fat fighters thing, I was 8kg or 9kg "bigger" but changed portion size and the ...well... amount I was eating. I have kept the same weight +/- 2kg ever since (cycle of slow up/slow down as I learn what I need to eat).I still eat takeaways, biscuits, crips, not on some odd diet or anything, just eat less.
Cravings and stress eating a hard ones to crack. Very hard. Ridiculously hard, even more ridiculous when you write it down in a post like this... but i completely get where you are coming from.
Example, last night, I cycled back to where I live after 14 hrs in work, just wanted crap and went to local store.... I got the basics (bread - milk etc) but went with the intention of just getting a big bag of crisps and stuffing the lot (they dont do UK size individual bags her in Norway, just the big ones). I then went and looked at the isle full of "junk" for a good 5 minutes....wanting practically everything on the shelf's. But just went and bought the stuff in my basket and left the junk behind. It was hard at the time, just looking at it all, the stuff I went to get, but i just waked away.Small victory but an example of how it is for those who "just don't get it".
"do or do not - there is no try"

One thing I've learned from intermittent fasting is that generally the "hungry" feeling, isn't actually hunger at all.
I hear people say "I couldn't possibly function without breakfast" and I can't help rolling my eyes. I've woken up on the WRT and done 1,000 meters of elevation on nothing more than a few sips of water. You can, because you're literally built to be able to do it.
When you're used to going 16h+ without food, you definitely learn when you're actually hungry and when you're just comfort eating / snacking / being a pig.

Often I miss my scheduled feeding time (yes, I appreciate that makes me sound like a farm animal!) and I haven't even noticed it.
I'm sounding preachy, and trust me I know how hard it is because I've literally got the saggy skin and stretch marks to prove it. Willpower is the key, and of course sadly real life is often what gets in the way of this. I'm stressed out of my mind right now and I've actually doubled my efforts because honestly, I'm fucking tired of getting even more depressed because I'm putting on weight when things are going wrong.
I shouldn't be that weak, none of us should be... so we just keep doing the best we can (the version that doesn't come with a bunch of excuses).
Edit - Oh, and I REALLY get that standing in a supermarket aisle thing. Some of them I wont even enter.

Pretty true Richard. One of the dieting "tactics" I have seen is to keep a food diary but mark each meal/snack out of five with one being not very hungry and five being "I don't care if it's been on the floor for half an hour I'm eating it!" (Alcohol is always zero BTW). The idea is to highlight those times you are just eating because of habit or social interactions such as the tin of sweets being passed around at work.
As for supermarkets: make a list before you head out and only buy what's on that list. Also have a good meal beforehand so you don't feel hungry.

I’ve got my regular meals all sorted, one naughty meal a week and generally only the one beer too. I normally gain or lose weight depending on how much i’ve snacked in a week and that’s often related to how often i’ve had to be up at 2 or 3 in the morning with my insomniac children

Morning everyone!!!
It's that time again, come on let's be having 'em.....
I'll have to add mine tomorrow as I'm just setting off to do a 174km loop of lake Geneva on the gravel bike and I forgot to step onto the scales of doom before leaving the house.
Wish me luck, I'll need it (not getting century fit)!
