As my very reliable Gore Bike Wear pants were showing their age at 12 years old I thought I'd treat myself to another pair. To my surprise the new Fusion pants were like rocking horse poo and I ended up getting them from bikeinn.com which is based in Spain and took about 3 weeks to come. The pants themselves are extremely lightweight and pack down really small. Tbh they are that thin I have my reservations that they will last a year never mind 12!! Worn them on a few occasions and yes they are vaguely exciting, they kept the wind and rain out during the battering we had up here last weekend and hopefully I'll notice the breathability of them in the coming weeks. The only other downside is they sound like a packet of crisps!!

Got tired of my Triple Ti's clicking like a Bushman...found some orange 'Beaters to match the "mango" Bonti hubs. Heavy by comparison.

Looks like the sort of thing you could make with a drill and an appropriate bit of metal, though anything I could make would never look as pretty as that!

When I was very young I got a Meccano set for Christmas. I've been pilfering bits from it ever since to patch things up - possibly my best Xmas present ever

Actually, they're cheaper than I thought. Meccano is a good shout though

I zip tied a second cage on for the Ford Fiesta, I have a Solaris which only has one bottle cage it was far stronger than I expected


Had some Shimano A530 pedals through for my new CX/adventure bike, which I pick up on Saturday

Also had another wiggle delivery - nike trainers, castelli gloves, headband and 4 more baselayers

A replacement cheque from mr taxman which i can't spend.

Impulse purchase of the week - XTR M980 GS rear mech from Ebay in excellent nick. Not a scratch to be seen.

An Air 9 RDO

A rather lovely pair of Travers Ti bars arrived yesterday ... sadly I'll not be fitting them to anything I own but someone will be leaving the WRT with them

...in the guise of the video fairies...got to see Inspired to Ride in the small hours...not a bad flick. An improvement by Mike and Hunter. That's one helluva ride.

- 1x troll frame (second due in May)

- 4x really heavy (and I mean heavy) rims
- 144 spokes and nipples
- 2x Jones bars
- 2x Garmin units (1000+800)
- 1x Spot tracker
- 4x Schwalbe tyres
- 2x Son dynamo (and the matching lights/plugs to go with it)
etc etc etc

He's touring with his wife in Spain in July as a shake down trip to (potentially) a round the world trip! I hate him

Picked up my new bike on the weekend, a Pinnacle Arkose 2. My first drop bar bike, will perform a number of roles

Picked up and fitted a rack too



First local ride, took my dog (hiding in the background of the first photo) for a ride and towed my daughter to the swings





More bits for it on the way.
