That's quite a worrying website Richard. I realise it's got a military twist but this bloke looks like he's nipping out for a couple of pints ... with his automatic weapon

Kinda knocks an axe into a cocked hat.

I have the Ozone you pictured up there. Not used it yet - gets its maiden outing next month. Will let you know how it gets on. Seems OK on the living room floor test. Think it cost £38 from the USA on one of those bulk purchase price drop site things.

I think the new Exped mats might have some sort of trickery built into the valve to prevent over-inflation. I can't get ours to inflate really hard anyway, no matter how much I lean on the schnozzle. Maybe its just the difference between the old palm style pump and the schnozzle though.

Air mats tend to lose pressure once they're lying on cold ground for a while. I'm guessing the opposite is also true - one filled with cold air could pop once warmed up.

Hmmm, that's why it was 85GBP yesterday. New years batch at UOG now...
To the OP, I was using my airmat last night (6 degC according to my phone) and I could feel the cold from the ground. It was not cold under the quilt but much colder would have begun to get nippy

What about the sea to summit ultralight? How do these compare to the expedition and thermarests mentioned?
The button quilted thing looks comfy and not as easy to roll off to me and if one of those welds delaminates it's less likely to be an issue (apart from getting a poke in the ribs) as it won't spread the length of the mat.
Anyone got any experience? Pics of pack sizes?

I havent tried one but it sounds like it's 6 and 2 three's really. Go for what ever brand marketing speaks to you best (or in my case, as I suspect it is for most, which one I could get the cheapest at the time)

Looking at the numbers on the sea to summit site, their "ultralight" seems to be in a similar range, but their insulated mat is a bit bigger.

Sea to Summit - Ultralight Insulated

Airmat HL M

Sea to Summit - Ultralight
