I picked up one of these before the obvious re-use of existing bottles occurred to me. It's middling-large and does the job.
As for any hipflask, I dunno. They don't really make sense to me and seem to belong in the marketing / lifestyle world of "look at us, we've included a bottle opener in our component / frame".
Hey ho, looks like I'm the grump this week (Stu - can we have a dedicated "grump" smilie please

)

A standard hip flask should hold 5 x 1/4 gill measures

My scales only weigh in 5 gram increments.
Flask weighs 90g filled with water it weighs 265g therefore volume equals 175ml.
Then I looked on the bottom and its stamped 6oz.

I use a tesco napoleon brandy half bottle. It's plastic and hip flask shaped. Drink the brandy if you really want then refill with whisky. Or I use a water bottle for a bigger drink. These are my two usual approaches. I do have some small hip flasks if I'm counting grams not drams.

I think there's a difference to carrying whiskey in a bottle, and drinking said contents from the bottle
The former is just a container. The latter is the vessel, would rather drink from a hip flask than a plastic bottle. Call me a snob!
I'd be keen on the smallest acceptable hip flask, just so it packs easily and if it's small I'm more likely to take it
Mine is like this one

I think CTBM is being a bit ambitious with the pricing

when you can get them from here for a far more reasonable rate
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-5-6-7-8oz-S ... 1731464506.
Short & wide - (4oz to 6oz?) with a captive screw top. Just the right size to fit into a rear cycling jersey pocket without hopping out when bouncing down the rough stuff (or crashing into a tree).
Hmmm: Bearbones jersey, hipflask & sticker gift set sounds like the perfect lifestyle collection for the 2017 Winter Bivi 'event'...

...and the run-up to Christmas 2017

It appears hip flasks are just the beginning.
How about a leather pouch for your growler...

...complete with logo of your choice?
Or a new rack?
Or does sir need some new frame luggage? With a cool bag for sir's cucumber sandwiches? How civilised!
Or perhaps a change from energy gels?
1 & 3 are probably in keeping with the lightweight theme of the forum

Not sure they would qualify as
hip flasks mind.
Did bring a smile to my face though

In keeping isn't an issue when that much alcohol is on offer, I'll take one of each please!
