Why do you need a Boost hub in rigid forks?
I don't think you do but I also think it's OE on DrMekons Trek?

110mm hub width John ... it's the latest thing don't you know.
Oh yeh...... http://www.laufforks.com/lauf-trail-racer-boost/

Nothing wrong with my "normal" Trail Racer or my Carbonara forks, but if boost is the new must have so be it. :ugeek:

God help me if I ever get a bike with rigid forks. I'll need a full face helmet. :oops:

Outside the marketing bumph of boost being better coz it's stiffer, more efficient and cooler etc. I would want all my forks to run to the same standards so I can swap around sets of wheels easily.
Yes, this. My Stache came with boost wheels, so want forks / wheel to match up in the future.

Good news is that I found some boost carbon forks on Alibaba

http://www.icanbikes.com/html/MTB/PAINT ... E/321.html

$179 shipped from the factory. I've asked them to confirm that 510mm is the axle to crown, and to tell me what the offset is. If it's 51mm, then I think I'm good to go.

I've got a few reasons, although they've all been said here already really.

* It's Cheap
* Head angle does't change, so it feels more stable to me
* Makes you ride properly
* I'm not actually any slower than with suspension (and so I may as well save that money ^)
* The look on peoples faces when you fly past SS and rigid on a decent, leaving them and their full-suss in the dust (well, the dust bit may be in my dreams, but the other bit happens!)
