Be real happy when the nights get longer and the days get cooler- I'm near Washington DC and it's been a steamy summer. Setting up a bivy when it is 28 deg C and humid with bugs = no fun. Bring on fall and the cool nights

Working shifts means that I often ride in the dark all year. I quite enjoy the first frosty nights of Autumn, they set me up for the forthcoming Griswald Christmas at Chez Mac.

I am much more active in the winter especially on the mountainbike.

Well just done the first night ride of the season. That is we set off with the intention of riding in the dark. Trails still dry and good fun.

Always been a summer kind of person, don't like the lack of daylight and poor circulation doesn't encourge me. Having said that, cold, crisp night rides on my local patch are something I look forward to. Just aim to make the most of the light before the clocks go back.

I used to hate the dark months.

Decent lights that are available now coupled with warm and waterproof clothes don't really mean that there is much hardship though.

I do like the solitude on the hills in winter expecially when the weather is grim.

No. Only because I don't have any decent lights, and therefore it's something else to think about and purchase.

3 months off the bike during the "Summer" meant a fair bit of tinkering including changing all front hubs to dynamos. Quite looking forward to being totally self sufficient and pootling off into the solitude of night rides with no restrictions.

Can't wait for the crisp cold winter to get the Bud, Lou's & Pogiesback on!

I don't like riding in the heat, so autumn/winter is better for me. However, a lot of the pleasure of riding is looking over the hedges to see what there is to see, so riding in the dark and only seeing what's lit up is not for me.
