Can you add to the list too Ian?
We'll be back from the Isle of Man midweek and I've the rest of the week off so may end up popping along

Re: Shindig: Final Call
No plans to go anywhere Doune bothy - mandatory bloody carry for 75 mins after that to get to Inversnaid - save that one for proper WHW.
Rochoish should be plenty quiet (hopefully) as it's about an hours walk from Rowardennan. Certainly when I've visited it twice it's always been clean and quiet - though granted I've not kipped over.
Chew - be great to have you along.

I'm in too. Last year I had to head home on the Sunday morning. Can do an 9 start and don't have a preference for the Sunday
Re: Shindig: Final Call
Phoned the ferry company yesterday - sounds like we'll get across to Inversnaid ok.
Regular ferry is at 16:00 and will cost £9 for the crossing.
They also run ferries for the OAP's / coach trips going to stay at Inversnaid hotel and they leave a bit later - the guy will give me more details next week on what's running.
The last option will be to charter a boat - cost is £150 ish - guess it depends how many of us are crossing..
will keep you all updated soon

So been giving this some thought and it could work for me n AW. What plans have people got for the Friday night I'm guessing as its a 9am start people will be up there fri evening or there abouts. I'm heading up North that week so I can join in on my way through possibly. Also be good to catch up with folks!

Right I need an idea of who's doing what.
Does everyone want to plan on a bothy stop or will it be free form ?
Are we planning on riding kind of as a bunch like last year (but please Dave B more slowly !!!)
So if we decide on the bothy option we could:
leave Milngavie town centre around 9, ride to balloch then do the three lochs way which takes us to the Inversnaid ferry.
Get the ferry then have dinner at the Inversnaid bunkhouse and head south to Rochoish bothy where I'll have pre-stashed whisky, wood, candles etc
Have a mellow night then ride south on the West Highland Way back to Glasgow where I can do a guided tour of some of the fantastic trails at the end of the WHW with the aim of finishing around three in Milngavie to let everyone get away down south.
Or I can just give out the same route as last year

Brian, I like that plan ..but ISTR that your brother in law dictated the pace, I just hung on.

More details:
Ferry crossing is on - will be just after 5pm, cost will be £9 per person including bike. Cash only.
Inversnaid bunkhouse will be more than happy to provide dinner.
It would be good to be able to give the ferry and restaurant a more exact number than "about fifteen" by Monday or Tuesday next week.

Re: Shindig: Final Call
I'm in, happy to go with the flow but a 9am Milngavie start works for me.
Re: Shindig: Final Call
@ Mike - probably more aimed at MTB although there won't be very much you couldn't do on a CX bike, though whether you'd want to would be a different matter. Kind of depends on your skill set and mentality...

Ferry / bothy is good for me.

Re: Shindig: Final Call
Ferry, bunkhouse for dinner and bothy sounds just the job to me

Re: Shindig: Final Call
Sign me up for whatever (I'm not too fussy)
Heading up on Friday so if someone knows a place to stop that would be good.
Reasonable journey back on Sunday so wouldn't want to be back to the car too late.

Ferry/food/bothy all sounds good...especially the food bit. I think I'm hungry.

Re: Shindig: Final Call
can you stick my name down to ian,
I a just looking at a camp site 2k up the road from the start where they will let you leave your car while you walk or ride the WHW, even if you don't stay there.
I shall give them a ring today and see what the crack is, as it saves dumping the car in town.
