Mariner

Steel. Handles great!
I have a trailblazer on a scraper rim...so I can mess about with tyre pressure. Nice on long rides & good craic on short local fun loops.

It's a small I'm 5'8. Ideal for me.

If you're knocking about Yorkshire, you can have a go.

I have cotic soul, too, slightly diff set up. They're similar but different enough to justify both;-)

Yep it's nice.

Hmmmmm, im no tempted to look at these frames. My fatbike has sold so i have some bike cash. Im 5' 8" so would i need a small or get away with med? They look really nice bikes built up. I currently have an orange R8 and it looks pretty similiar, I love the 26 wheels its so nippy but everyones going 29 these days i think i need to move on!

I'm 5' 9" on a medium with a 50mm stem, really comfortable for long rides, and nippy through the singletrack. If it was my only bike I might be tempted to go for a small as I think that would have been a better size for "cocking about in the woods" duties.

I spoke to the guys at Cotic as I'm in between small and medium, drop then an email, they're really helpful

Really enjoy mine.
At times I question if I should have gone for a large (I ask it when mile munching) but when out playing then it feels right.

Guess to a certain degree that any bike is a compromise.

I could help by getting a 70mm stem I guess. But
am reluctant for 3 reasons.

1) I like the set up I have both in terms of look (cotic own stem) and when playing.

2) I have spent more time road riding recently than thinking about the mtb.

3) if I spend some bike related money at the moment I'd quite like it to be on a fat bike!

Anyway I'll link in the other thread where I commented on sizing again:

Mike as mentioned give Cotic a ring, they're good to deal with, don't ring of a Thurs though cause i think they're usually busy getting the weeks outgoing orders ready for dispatch..

When i got my Soul going off their size guide i'm bang in between a medium & large but they advised me to get a large & i'm glad as i think a medium would have been a touch on the small side. My Simple (29er) is also a large, but feels a fair bit longer than the Soul.

The latest models are also longer in the top tube so if you're in between sizes would be worth taking into consideration.

If you ask they may be able to sort you out with a demo ride straight from their place nr Sheffield, i know in the past they've just given peeps a bit of a map & sent them on their way. They may also, if they have time, set you a demo up how you want it, fork/stem length, etc.. Not sure if this has changed as they've got busier though..
