Just a quick update from me

Been singlespeed curious for a while. Cycled home in one gear only the way home and was less than a minute off my quickest time for the trip. Reckon i'll be exploring singlespeed options now!

I don't even have to get dressed to go to work most days, but yesterday I travelled 10 miles each way for a job. I went by road, came back on track. A wee bit hilly but nothing that had me pushing. Scary traffic.

My commute when I did a little trial run would be a 40km round trip with 1200m of climbing, with a 300m climb straight out of the front door. http://app.strava.com/activities/121085103 I'm a nurse and work ridiculous shifts (upto 14 hours long and with only 8 hours between some shifts) combined with the joy of little kids at home, it's asking for trouble.

I think that I need to man up and get on with it as I could make some cracking detours on the way home. Plus I would be as fit as a butchers dog in no time.

Envious of people who can cycle commute to work. Obviously not on wet, windy, miserable days though. My job involves a company van that is kept at home overnight, so if I did cycle to work I'd have the slight problem of the van being in the wrong place. Would love to have a job where a cycle commute was possible, but I enjoy the job I have so I put up with not having that option.
