Looking like there could be rain on the Friday night, but then Scorcio........ It'll be reet nice
http://www.yr.no/place/United_Kingdom/E ... /long.html
There are a few sheltered bits near to Ilkey, but its mostly moorland. If anyone has a larger tarp can they bring it along as I've lent mine out.
Zolug - give us a shout if you're around. Saturday night we'll probably end up in Hebden for a pint (its all downhill along the canalside from Littleborough) and then may end up somewhere around Stoodly Pike. Sundays spectating may be Cragg Vale/Ripponden Bank.

Yes that's the plan.

I am based in Marford between chester and wrexham if any one going and has space I would of cause pay my way.
If any one can help please let me know?

Hi Chew,
I'm parking the car somewhere near Uppermill with JohnClimber and we're doing a bit of a XC route to eventually make our way to Cragg Vale.
Would be nice to meet up with you guys? I'll drop you a PM to see what your rough schedule is if that's ok.
cheers

Still planning on being there but maybe only Friday evening as I was thinking of stopping with a mate in Sheffield on Sat night. Will follow up with MM-on-P and see if we can work something out - off work on Friday so can get over for lunchtime Friday I hope.
Have a MASSIVE tarp from sea kayaking days if that helps... think king size double and a bit - I can throw that in for communal space if needed?

Just watching t' Otley road races.
Think we're good for tarps thanks.
Easy for you to peel off on Saturday evening once we reach Hebden and a pleasent hours ride down the canal back to mine.
MM I'll happily give you a lift to Manchester on the Sunday if that would help you get home?

Not really much of a drinker, especially during the day, but i'm sure you get get me a pint at the pub
Barney/Mark/MM - sounds like we may have a plan comming together. I was thinking that the train restrictions wouldn't be in operation south and West of Manchester, hence my offer to drop you off there.
Just back from the Otley road races. I bit busy and 5 deep in people at some points, so we may need to get to our spot quite early to get a good view

To be fair i'd check the train situation as i'm only guessing
Plan is to meet at mine or noon for a 1pm depart.
Halifax/Sowerby Bridge/Brighouse stations are all fairly close, some may be easier to get to than others (ie avoiding Hebden Bridge)
PM me your email and i'll send through some options tomorrow

MM - I can pick you on the way to Chews on Friday morning... Sounds like Barney can get you home - no train needed. I have a couple of bike racks on top of the car. Will pm you mobile number and we can work out logistics (I'll be coming along the A55 from North Wales, so can skirt south of Chester before heading for the M56 and on to Yorkshire)... how's that sound?

This a big communal one a whole group of tramps will shelter under
I'll bring my little E-wing which I'm hoping will keep me out of trouble, but I've not had much practice with it really...

Weather looks hit and miss, reckon bringing a waterproof now
Tested my bike today for the first time, all on road to work though - nothing fell off, so that's good. How flinty is it en route? If it is flinty, I should probs put a different rear tyre on

; otherwise should be good to go providing I can pack this evening.
Can't wait

None flinty. Its mainly gritstone around here so nothing sharp for the tyres to worry about, but your drivetrain will love it when it rains.
Weathers looking like showers on Friday, although we'll have a nice tail wind and fingers crossed it'll blow over. After that it should be nice and sunny Sat & Sun.

Anyone got a radio that they could bring? Thinking about being able to pick up 5 live, so we have some idea whats going on.
