Still thinking of getting one of these (for various reasons including the solo rescue notification making family happier!).
Taylor - did you have any joy sourcing the Mk1 versions from France? Please let me know if you did source some and I missed the boat/post?
Anyone else got a Mk2 (I see Ian's comment about it having better reception but Ian's tracking seems fine)? Not too sure I fully understand how it works with a contract in the UK (contracts seem to be $99 p.a. on the website I've trawled). How does SpotWalla work - is this a 'free' alternative to the contract thing or just another viewing option?
Do these come up second hand frequently - seems to be the kind of thing that might get bought and then put in a drawer. Can you set up a new contract for a used unit?
Seems a shame that the tecnology can't be built into an eTrex 20/30 to cover two functions of the GPS at once!
Thanks for any input!

She's not said owt so I'm assuming she's forgotten. I'll probably be speaking to her over the weekend so I'll ask again.

Forgot all about that myself.

I've had a mk2 for a bit over a year. It's great, but the subscription is rather expensive. I've let my subscription lapse for now but will probably renew for the summer as I have a few things planned where it'll be useful.
