If July I'll have a 13 year old and a nearly 11 year old (how did that happen?)

My daughter will have turned 3 by then, but only by a few months. My son will be 6, so shouldn't have any problems with the distance, but haven't worked out logistics of dealing with the youngest...

I'll have my 5yr old twins with me, both are keen on cycling with daddy when they are older but at the moment one is still a bit nervous and I don't want to be wreck her confidence so she'll be in a Burly trailer. Not sure how far the other one will be able to ride so I'll be bringing a mate and we'll have a trail-gator to hitch up when she gets tired.

Has a date been set for this yet? I need to get this in diary. I know first wkd in July suggested but off to Tour with family (as it would seem are a few others). 12-13th July wouldn't be bad neither would mid August. Always struggle with stuff to do in school Hols but suspect a lot of people away then.

Right so we now need some numbers

So this looks like the plan subject to getting a campsite sorted.

Sat 14th June & Sunday 15th June

Start / Park in Dolgellau (actual place to be sorted)
Easy route flat - Ride 10 miles along the very flat Morfa Mawddac Trail http://www.eryri-npa.gov.uk/__data/asse ... ch_map.pdf
Across the Rail / Toll Bridge Into Barmouth for Ice cream supplies
3 Miles back to Campsite
Back to Cars / Parking Sunday Morning

There is an option to do a longer hillier route to the campsite for older / bigger kids which would add about 7 miles and 800ft of accent and then 800ft decent

I expect the cost of the camping to be between £15-£20 per family

So now I need numbers

I'll start

Me
Mrs Fantastic
7 Year old
4 Year old

Hi Mat,

couple of quick questions...

do you have a very rough guess at how long we'll be riding for please (just need to know if it'll be too long for my girls)
what are the facilities on the campsite (not sure my 5yr olds are ready for doing "what bears do in the woods")

cheers

Although I'm possibly the biggest kid of the bunch, I won't be attending. However, if I'm not working I may just pop my head in and say hello ... I'd hate to miss out on Matt's rendition of the Gruffalo

Right folks the Campsite is sorted!. Yet to finalise cost but it will be reasonable and they have a policy of charging less if you arrive by bike.

http://www.graigwen.co.uk/

Looks like we'll have a space to ourselves but getting it confirmed this afternoon. I've promised we'll only have small tents so if anybody is planning on bringing a "Vango Super 12 Person Dome" let me know

The campsite has some great facilities and allows fires in the fire pits

but also has Composting toilets and just further up on the Site itself has Showers and Flushing loos

I also suspect that we will be able to Portage some bits to the site if we can't carry everything on the bike.

Also if people wanted to do more than just the Saturday and base themselves here I'm sure this could be sorted
