My strava elapsed time registers 20h 32m, so all three of us arrived back at 6.32am. Not that I'm fussed, just want the list to be right! Here's the strava activity: http://www.strava.com/activities/88781433
I thought there was a mistake somewhere there.

My Garmin time elapsed is 20h 22m (http://ridewithgps.com/trips/1912132) but I got lost on the way to Pennant and started 10mins late, I know my official time should be from 10am though and would be the same as Gabriel and Andy.

Just had a thought.

What's the age of the oldest and youngest finisher of the Bear Bones 200? And then also sub 24..?

Phil Simcock is clearly the fastest rookie (to the event) 8-)

And Ian is clearly fastest singlespeed.

(p.s. I'm 24 and hoping I'm the youngest finisher, and sub 18 hour finisher... :geek: )

And another stat; 4 people have completed all three BB200's. IanB, KevinR, AlanG and KeithP.

Paul Pomfret retired and I didn't start and were the only others who could have completed the triple.

Well done to all the riders who finished, hanging around on Sunday morning it was amazing to see all the riders getting round in under 24 hours. Only Ian and Kevin managed it in 2011. Of course, it was easier this way round;-)

17.8% beat the 2011 record
7.1% beat the 2012 record
4.1% went under 14 hours.

I recorded a 9.5% improvement on my 2012 time (14.1% in 2011).

Just found this thread of people estimating their time for 2011.

How expectations have changed

Low number of bail-outs this year surprised me.

(Haven't done the stats/graphs though)

I still think that doing the event solo, on a 26er, a week earlier than everyone else, at my age, has a 2 hour 38 minute time penalty - just think - I could have done it much quicker if I tried (and was younger, had a bigger bike etc etc)! :P

Well done to everyone - even though the times were generally quicker I think this way round is harder - it's the last 20km that swings the balance though. Healing vibes to the fella who was hit by a car - any news on how he is?

Woh Woh Woh. Stu, I want to protest my time, I was not a whole minute behind Roy and Dainius, we came in together. I just stopped to close the gate after them, hence I was a few seconds back. :D

Ok I was a whole 26 hours behind some of the front runners, but I finished and I loved it.

I'll own up to being 50+ but be surprised if that makes me the oldest finisher ..

I think the Good-for-Wales weather had a lot to do with that. Poor old George that DNF'd did so has he'd exhausted all his tubes, patches & sealing foam by 60k. If I'd had that many punctures and a split tyre I'd have probably called it quits too.

Kevin Roderick made 6th though (+ first CX bike?), so you need to allow for that. Think this is correct:

1 SIMCOCK Phil 13h 08m
2 BARRINGTON Ian 13h 58m (first SS)
3 GOLDSMITH Alan 14h 17m
_ RICHMOND Phil 14h 17m
5 RUSSELL John 16h 58m
6 RODERICK Kevin 17h 03m (first CX)
7 REEVES Chris 17h 13m (youngest rider)
8 EDWARDS Jon 17h 27m
_ HEADING Steve 17h 27m
_ SHELDON Alan 17h 27m
11 HOULBROOK Adam 17h 51m (joint first in the bearded category)
__ HOULBROOK Matt 17h 51m (joint first in the bearded category)

Before the final history is written I ought to say that my time as entered on the finish sheet was actually 17.03. My handwriting might not have been too clear at the time.
And I'm more than twice as old as Zippy.
And that John Russell knows how to pass a knackered old bloke in the final km with good grace.

In the event of a tie in the bearded category are final rankings decided by length / thickness / colour etc?

Must be an extremely long, narrow and colourful beard.
