Yep, I had them and they're what I recommend to everyone who has cable discs if they ever want to actually stop :D

They are massively better than anything cable disc I tried (all of them I think!). The only caveat is I have seen one (ever, so possibly an anomaly) leak from the seal. Not to the point of losing braking totally, but would have been game over in the middle of a long tour, for instance. The bike was fairly heavily used and neglected though, so maybe grit got in the seal.

A friend of mine had a leak from the JuanTechs also. Long descent with bikepacking load and I guess the heat caused a leak at the main lever piston. I wouldn't use these hybrid type brakes on a long trip personally. There's not the same heat management ability which is the same for a full cable brake, but with a cable brake there isn't a seal to be damaged by that heat.

One trick with cable discs is to size up on the rotor, manages heat better, brakes better - the BB7s on 180 rotors F+R my MTB are great loaded or not.
