I didn't drink enough during the day and ended up with a horrible dehydration headache for a while. Things got better once the sun dropped. I had two bottles totalling 1700ml which each got filled a few times so ~5 litres, plus a chocolate milk, coke, and iced-latte.

Food-wise 8 x mini-soreen, a slice of gala pie, pack of coconut macaroons, cheese/marmite/PB flatbread, much-welcomed cheese and chips, then veloforte chews and clif blocks to see me through once I'd lost my appetite.

I arrived back with stuff uneaten, but had I not managed to stock up en route would have finished the lot, and indeed did so on the drive back home.

A word of warning about trying to copy Alexinthepeaks, he's an absolute racing whippet and steamed round in under 14 hours...

I'm planning on carrying pretty much all of what I need, as trying to find veggie pasties in the arse end of nowhere has bitten me on the, er, arse multiple times this year. Current planing is something along the lines of cheapo 24 hour garage flapjacks x4 different flavours, three different veggie pasties type affairs, trail mix (100g macadamia nuts, 125 peanut M&M's and 100g cranberries), plus as many SiS Beta Fuel Jellies as I can carry. 1.5L bladder on my back with High5 Zero in it, plus a MSR Trailshot for refilling (unless the bogs at the ruined Abbey have a tap).

Super helpful thanks everyone.

Planning on 2xbottles and carrying a bladder to refill/purify on the go.
Will use energy sachets in bottles for extra carb, on top of flapjacks, bananas and gels. Emergency stash of salted nuts and skittles!

If I can get a coffee and cake I'll be well chuffed

They were shut (and locked) on Saturday.

There's a tap, you just have to know where to look...

(I was pissed off as the shop wasn't open, I really wanted an ice cream!)

The helpful lady in the visitor center told me where to look
