Thanks, I did try the graduated return to exercise thing, but thus far I've not been able to do anything without my heart rate rocketing, and day to day fatigue is still a major issue.

That’s a shame, it sounds like you’re not yet recovered enough/ready to exercise yet.
Take it easy on yourself.

Two full months since infection. Very frustrating.

It is indeed. Going to try doing some very light stuff again this week, but I'm not massively optimistic (went for a walk the other day and half died going up a hill).
Anyway, hopefully you all enjoy yourselves. Gutted to not be there.

Richard, sorry to hear your recovery is going so slowly. Must be very frustrating and I guess concerning that you may not get back to your best.

Anyone know if there's a prediction on how low the cloud base will be this weekend...?

It'll depend which valley you're in. They'll usually all be different.

I've shortened my preferred route to somewhere between 65 and 70 km, with the intent to kip somewhere around Glaslyn area. Suddenly realised that if I'm going somewhere remote that I've never been to before and have no real idea about, it might be best not to do it in a freezing cold cloud...

Glaslyn area
Biggest issue there is usually the wind as it gets everything coming off the coast.

At least the murderers and werewolves will find it harder to find you if it’s foggy.

Any better in the woods between Mynydd Bychan and Llechwedd Diflas? Alternatively, there looks like there maybe a ruin and a barn at Bugeilyn, pitching up behind either of those might work...

Reckon I'll be getting my head down around that neck of the woods myself... Similar length route too. Didn't want to over-egg my custard on my first Welsh ride in ages...

The view from the Towers this morning - wasn't forecast which perhaps proves anything can, might and probably will happen

Anyone headed north east?
I have a 95k route planed taking in Bwlch y Groes and Vyrnwy. I imagine I'll be tackling that part in the dark.

I suppose it all depends on how long you want to be riding for on Saturday, in the rain, wind, cold and dark...

Replacement wheelbearings still not turned up. Haven't given up hope yet (or indeed given up Hope, since they're sending them

) but it's getting to be a bit of a cliffhanger. I might have to initiate an emergency deployment of the 150mm F/S machine currently sleeping in the shed, so I'll look like a complete idiot riding that around the tracks and bridleways. Similar thing happened four years ago on the WE. No room for frame bag either so I'll have to chuck some non-essentials overboard. Except I haven't got any non-essentials: one set of clothes for four days, map, tarp, no food/drink apart from one serving of porridge, credit card, train tickets, fixed grin. Ah well, beats staying at home doing the hoovering

.

Fingers crossed for you reg.
Do your FS wheels happen to be compatible with your usual ride?

What is it you need Reg? I can ferret in my spares box or bring a spare wheel.
