With my no show at this year's WWB, I had roughly equal amounts of sadness in my heart, and bacon and eggs in the fridge...
So at least a compensatory bike ride (first one in ages, and boy do I feel unfit!) with cooked breakfast with a view was in order.
Forgive me, this has probably already been done, but I discovered a while back that a carton of 6 eggs happens to fit very neatly into the smaller of my mess tins, which I think is brilliant (does anyone know btw if that is pure coincidence, or is there some method behind this?), and provides a safe way to transport eggs. Except no-one has six eggs for breakfast right? So there could be a lot of wasted space...
I used to a have a really handy small plastic container with lid from my mum, which I have since lost, then realized just how great it was for taking bikepacking, for coffee or some nuts or whatever... Took me a while to work out that what it actually was, was a sample pot (yes, THAT kind - eugh!).
So the idea was born to get some more of these pots, and use them in the spare spaces in the egg box, to make a kind of cooked breakfast kit for on the go.
Ta da:

In case you can't see, so there's two eggs, some mushrooms, and pots with butter, coffee, and bacon (yes, a true bacon roll

)

After slogging up one of my favourite hills, I chucked a soggy left up to a lovely and lesser known hill with trig point and standing stone, and one of those stones with a marking on (remind me, did someone here know what these mean? It's a T on the stone), found a sheltered spot with a view next to some gorse bushes, and got cooking in the drizzle.

To be fair, my little fire dragon struggled with the whole cooking bacon eggs and mushrooms thing, I had to use both of the tabs I had brought, so had nothing left for a brew (not good). Worth remembering I think, they're ok for just heating something up, but for actual cooking I'll stick with gas from now on...
