Took the plunge and invested in a Rohloff now, so far, I love it

Ooh... Good to hear. I'm contemplating one for an adventure bike but a little worried by weight. Enough people who have used them seem to be sold on their reliability / lack of maintenance / bits to get bent. Did you get a Rohloff & wheel combo from somewhere, or buy separately and get it built up? I'd be interested in where you got it from /done. How does it feel on the bike? Do you notice the weight?

I dont think the weight is a massive issue to be honest.

You can feel it there when picking the bike up etc but not when riding so far. I'll do a proper write up on it soon :D

The rigid forks arrived and are fitted.

They're a wierd shape that I dont know if I like. I did enjoy the ride though.

Pro's
Nice and direct
no bobbing about climbing
no diving braking
Light as a feather 638g vs the 1710g reba's that came off

Cons
I may need a bigger tyre, 2.2 maxxis got pinged about a bit. I'll play with lower pressures first.

50k done on the forks so far though.

They seem to ride well but look weird
