I'm 90% at this point, will plan holidays and stuff and be in touch. Cheviot camp would be perfect.

If I took the Monday off work I could ride bits of St. Cuthbert's Way from Berwick all the way back to my house too!

Barring locusts, flood, pestilence, act of god etc etc, I'll be there. Looking forward to riding in a new area.

Could you point me towards the bit in the Bible that mentions running races? :D ;)

A wee taster, The Cheviot Hills "Windy Ghyll" (pre bikepack days) the highest point and St Cuthberts Cave, you can just make out the bike to the left of centre.

Yep, I'd love to bivi there but it's 90 miles from where I live, possible in a day but lots of road riding and there's not many bridleway's near to it to make a route close by. One day I'll put together a route so I end up there overnight. I could possibly back track after the solstice ride to stay there, good excuse for another night out. In fact I could throw it open to all who do the ride for a bit of a get together afterwards :D .

Is this still on? Interested, just got to work out if a train from Edinburgh to the start is possible. Would stay the second night near Holy Island and then cycle home.
PS I'm not a mental. Been lurking on here since the start, over from STW, but only recently joined once I've started buying gear

Yes, this is still on. You can get a train from Edinburgh at 6.52 am on Saturday morning with one change at Carlisle to get you to Gretna for 8.30 am, cost about £28. If your going to bivi near Holy Island then St Cuthbert's cave is a great spot, after that it would have to be somewhere along the coast north of Holy Island. Be great to have you along.

Hi jamiep, looks as though I'm going to be getting the train too. What way are you cycling back to Edinburgh, on the road or through the Lammermuir Hills? I may be up for joining you if your interested.

I've absolutely no route planned, although knew the John Muir Way was a pleasant and easy way home. Was just gonna go with the flow see what I fancied, although it wouldn't be via the road. I figured I'd prefer to cycle home than sit on the train.

I'm in bar booking the time off work a a train ticket tomorrow.

edit: if you had a route you wanted to try, I'm more than happy to tag along

Not really looked at return routes yet, John Muir way may be OK. Don't forget to book your bike onto the train.
