Not sure if I’ll make it up on Friday night, it depends on where I’m working, my boss keeps sending me to studios south of the river on Fridays, last weekend eve it was an 18 hour day

A wonderfully 'British' cycling occasion - a myriad range of period characters and off road ('ish) machines (original and homage) in a fabulous setting under clear blue skies. Credit to all who picked their way to the top to the Wayfarer memorial on the skinniest of tubes and tyres. Most steeds were 60+ years vintage - I road a state of the art 650b '89 Pioneer cos I'm soft!

Called in on Saturday, spoke to few people who had returned from wayfarer memorial, very quiet.
Had dog with me so returned to walk Chirk estate

Was a really great weekend, thanks to all who made it happen and all who came along. A very fitting tribute to Wayfarer and his ilk. There are so many wonderful memories from across the decades of riding that track. Of course it's no different to any of the dozens of other long unsurfaced mountain tracks in the British Isles, yet it has become special for cycling, a rite of passage, a route to ve cherished to be handed down from one generation to the next. David Birchall of Anfield Bicycle Club showed photographs in his talk on the Saturday night, of his father riding it in the 30s and 40s, then him riding it in the 60s, then riding it with his son in the 1990s, and most recently with his grandson.

Ohh I’ve never been modern before
It was a great weekend, thanks for organising. Coming back over on Sunday was a real contrast, strong headwind and very cold on the top with the track much wetter. To be honest I don’t think I’d want to try it in the snow.
