Still haven't entered yet - hoping to this instead though as can't make the WRT
Re: Entries live for Jennride 2018
Doing WRT and Jennride now... Still undecided between the 100miler and the lakeland200, I'm thinking the 100, I would have had my fill of hike'a'bike from the previous weekend knowing my previous route choices.

Numbers up to 167 should be a good weekend filling the hills with stream sipping bike packers!!
Massive thanks to all those entered plenty of space for you on the fencers

Really looking forward to this again after greatly enjoying the first one a couple of years ago and missing it last year. Mark

Re: Entries live for Jennride 2018
I'm planning to do the Lakeland 200 route. Undecided whether to take my more "bikepacking friendly" rigid plus bike, or whether I'd feel the benefit of my full-sus on the more technical bits. Never used the latter for bikepacking. No chance of a frame pack, so I'd be limited on what I could carry, but that may not be a bad thing! Any thoughts on this from any of you who know the route?

The 200 is one of the few routes where I would consider using a rucksack. Has plenty of hike-a-bike. Plenty.thenorthwind wrote:I'm planning to do the Lakeland 200 route. I’d agree with Ian. I did most of it over a couple of days a few years back on a rigid bike. I would definitely ride my full sus bike next time-even if it meant wearing a rucsac

Thanks for the insight. Yes, had considered a rucksack as well. Better practise my TLS. And maybe tubeless my full-sus.

I'm probably being a bit dim here and the info is out there somewhere, but what's the situation for camping on the Friday night? I'll be turning up with a car so is there somewhere I can leave it for the weekend?
Re: Entries live for Jennride 2018
There's a field next to the brewery/startline, plenty of room.
Re: Entries live for Jennride 2018
Rich, has requested tents/bivi's etc don't get put up until after 6pm on Fri.
Re: Entries live for Jennride 2018

Crikey! Two fine hot weekends in a row
We did have some heavy rain on Saturday night but it had cleared by morning.
Here's some shots from the weekend

There's a few on the phone to upload.

Great company and a superb event, nice one Mr Rich

Re: Entries live for Jennride 2018
I'll third that! It was a great event made even better by wall to sunshine and many enroute pubs
Cheers Rich, we had a blast!

Yup, cracking route and a lovely event all round, thanks Rich.
The weather was grim on Saturday night if you opted for just a bivvy bag
but more than made up for it by the sun before and after.
A lot of the time, the view to my left was somewhat obscured
:

One of my favourite moments was early on Sunday morning, having set off at 5, cold and damp, lost two unsecured Eccles cakes on the first descent, and having only a half eaten Snickers left for breakfast, I bumped into a milkman. Pint of full fat please!

PS Can only see one photo on your link Bob.
