Pencelli is on the ride from Ian's to Talybont.

I'll be on the campsite so I'll ride from there, either you and Ian can meet me there or I can see you at Talybont.

ah ok cool. There's a possibility my new Hexamid might be here in time, although probably not as it's not at the local depot yet & no doubt there'll be customs charges to pay first. Fingers crossed for weather like this weekend!

I'm debating on mass coverage or just enough. Again it depends how much liquid sunshine we get.

There's a layby with ample parking opposite the campsite.

From the morning I'll be quite patchy with internet so I'll see you lot either outside the campsite or at the pub in talybont. ;)

It's going to be a no show for me I have to pick up my DAd from the Preseli hills early Monday morning so I cant attend.

On the bright side I was out on the bike last night for the first time in an age and it felt vaguely exciting :geek:

Thanks guys, that was fun, despite the predictable weather! Excellent hospitality (and breakfast) Ian & Beth. Very impressed with the Trailstar...a total palace compared with my precarious & flappy dog tarp!! Some crappy smartphone pics, though unfortunately I didn't get one of Ian's Hexamid.

unfortunately I didn't get one of Ian's Hexamid
Neither did I actually
I got quite a nice pitch in the end, but exposed windy conditions in a hexamid are not an ideal combination.
Need to find a different pole solution really as the present alloy one flexes (not so much as the carbon one), but it ultimately prevents you from getting the tarp really taut to shed the wind better.

Pete - pity you couldn't have joined us. Conditions were a world apart from when we last did it though - felt like late Autumn, not August...

Mark has gained his "high elevation/ windy and exposed rookie tarp" badge, but needs to work on getting his "packing gear away quickly" badge ;)
Flatfish got the best pitched tarp award (I take back all I said about Trailstars - in the flesh they look the business for two people)
Steve wins the prize for best performance on least sleep after an epic overnight journey from France to sleep on a wind-swept ridge in Wales.

Cheers all for good company :D

Mark was delighted that his tarp stood up through the night
