Are we your target audience though?Dave Barter wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 5:45 pm Cheesy Friday here as I've just submitted my latest book to Amazon. Hopefully "I'm a Cyclist Let Me Out of Here" will be available soon. Unless of course they refuse it for being too sweary/a bit sh1t.
Thanks to Reg, Northwind and Stu .. copies will be on the way to you shortly.![]()
That's the one. I imagine a few of my ex-colleagues were also chuckling when they heard the news.RIP wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 10:05 amFront page of the Beeb no less?

I twice read that as 'valve cap' and thought, ooh that's interesting.I’m spending my evening imbibing fine wine whilst listening to some fine vinyl through a nice valve amp
Well I reckon a meths stove is the conflagrationary equivalent of vinyl listening. Infinite subtlety and nuance.BigdummySteve wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:00 pm I use gas Reg, I’m spending my evening imbibing fine wine whilst listening to some fine vinyl through a nice valve amp![]()

I once arrived late at my parents, and my dad gave me a small travel tube of "toothpaste", which turned out to be a sample of denture fixative cream! Very disturbing sensation as I brushed my teeth and everything started to turn solid
Hi TNW, I hope the garage floor went OK. Smooth tarmac, how did the Mtb or Gr'o'vel bike cope?thenorthwind wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:52 am Missed the Slovenia discussion last week. We went a few years ago. Fantastic country. We travelled around a lot (basically a big lap of the country) but you'd need a car for that, and for most trips for that matter.
Bohinj was lovely. We went through the tunnel on the car-train to the Soça valley, which was fun, and the Soca is beautiful, well worth it if you can get there, either via the tunnel or the Vrsic pass. Can recommend an amazing little bar in Kobarid where the owner produced a wheel of local cheese that had been maturing and offered it round the bar![]()
... from where you are I'd probably try to explore more of Triglav national park... . You're not far from Bled, which is the tourist honeypot to end all honeypots, but it's worth a look - maybe if you can get there early in the morning for a couple of hours.
We stayed at a "tourist farm" - a farm that hosts visitors, not where they grow tourists! - and the food was absolutely incredible....
For this cheery Friday...

Hopefully by later today I'll have a smoother more level garage floor too.
... so I'm richer on paper, how does it transfigurate into a Gr'o'vel bike?ledburner wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 10:34 am last week the missus/mrs LB says check the smart meter, (I can't) read the number are flashing all over the place. turns out it was rolling quickly through all the reading. the E'lectrickerty provider refused accept meter teading through the app. the smart meter reads but is not online. finally the accepted the reading.
