That does look like a good little tent and excellent value, however I don't want the import but-f*****g from HMRC / DHL, so, is there a UK stockist?

Oops...
Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I bought mine from ultralight outdoor gear - the postage from the US (at pre-reduction prices) made the UK purchase cheaper
Not so much a gravel grinder.... more a gravel (mud and tarmac) groveller...

Just while I'm out their page, am I being thick, or are these not (just about) the exact same?

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Similar but enough differences to make me spend more.
The top vent, the full on single skin and mesh perimeter of the SMD versus the seemingly less vetilated aliexpress one.
And personally I'd rather support a small-scale firm who developed the goods rather than buy the copy/ homage even if it did hurt my wallet (lots)
(and each to their own and all that...)

Oh I'm with you on that.. and to be fair, the link didn't show the SMD one, just two others that look almost identical , and a re both themselves similar in design to the SMD one..
Looking at the two I linked tho, you do wonder if they come from the same factory, and, like bikes we juts readily pay a premium for "boutique" names?

There's more to the cost than that of manufacture.
FWIW, the mesh surround on the LS is crucial to its performance.

Yes, they probably do. But with one your paying for the material and cheap labour to make it, and one your paying for the wages of the clever people who spent ages design, testing and refining the design, which have already been spent, plus the materials and cheap labour to make it.Looking at the two I linked tho, you do wonder if they come from the same factory, and, like bikes we juts readily pay a premium for "boutique" names?

I'd guess that they don't come from the same factory ... although I could be wrong.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Perhaps not, though the point is the same. I'm not saying I've never bought a cheap knock-off version of a more expensive product either, just pointing out why one has to be more expensive than the other (otherwise neither can exist).

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
... and I was just saying that the manufacturing looks quite different between the two. There'll always be a market for cheaper copies of products and there'll always be people willing to produce them. It almost seems that once a brand transfers its manufacturing to the far east, it also hands over any 'ownership' it once had.Perhaps not, though the point is the same.
