New troy lee designs jersey and some 3/4 humvees from crc and a south pennines mountain biking book from amazon

Purchased frame off Ian back in Feb 2013. Was meant to replace bent frame for my winter SS use as I was gonna get a cotic soul and swap bits over...but thought the soda was a bit nice for that, so er plans changed (few other things in life changed too) and er gradually been collecting some nice bits and yesterday and today I finally built it!

Some bits from previous bikes, some new bits, some purchased second hand (rebuilt and cleaned where necessary) and here we go.
It's on the scales as just under 10kg, bit of tweaking to do (USE stem to match finishing kit, chain guide if needed etc.)

just got my Alfine 11 back from warranty return the 2nd this year because it leaked all the oil out over the disc and guess what oil all over it before it came out of the box. i suppose i will be single speeding for a while longer

Cheers 26er wheels, I have actually yet to try a 29er being the luddite I am - that's all 9 speed stuff on their too I'm on the lookout for a 9speed xtr shifter to match the rest

It was a lovely pint, as for the ride, I've only been out a couple of times with it, some rubbish peak district roads and woodland/river trails, but I can honestly say its blinkin good fun, it seems to eat up the crap roads, is very forgiving, stable and feels like it wants to be ridden...I know that's a much used term, but it certainly feels racier than its standard spec might at first seem, that is probably due to its forgiving nature, inspiring some spirited pedalling..

As for the frame, it is a lovely piece of workmanship, certainly a great foundation to up spec, lose a bit of weight and get out touring on!

Cool. I have to say I really like my Genesis and love what they are doing with the stainless steels. Just need them to do the Caribou in 931 now.

Yes, I must say I'm a convert, I'm going to try and give it a damn good load of riding before I consider any upgrades etc...I really wanted some steel and pushed the boat out for the stainless, the £250 trade in at Evans for my old rusty tourer certainly sweetened the pill...I know the 2015 will be announced soon, but the discount swayed me....Yorkshireman and Stainless Steel seemed about right for me being Made in Sheffield...

Be nice if they did roll out a whole stainless range!

Mt Zoom bars, kcnc stem, chain tensioner, 16t sprocket and single chainring bolts mean I can finish my old Stumpy hardtail singlespeed conversion. Might have a wander round the local trails this weekend.....

Got Lunar Solo tent in the post on Tuesday, and a pole for it from Stu this morning. Ta Stu.

The solo is really easy to put up, and really spacious, especially for me as I'm a short arse. Weighs in at 770g in it's stuff-sack with pole and 6 ti pegs. No need to carry a bivvy anymore either. Now I just need a comfy mattress.

I've found that a couple of twigs (I used wood this morning and old dayglo string ) gives much more space inside as well.

I sent the original far too flexi carbon pole back for a refund yesterday, which I hope to get back soon.
