Hi I also had issues posting from Flickr, I found 'share' ' to
get the '
bb code' unreliable. (see my earlier quoted below).
[see Whitestone post, in this thread, 17jan21 so you know what correct bb code looks like including the
bold bits are most import, something like :-
"
https://live.staticflickr.com /xxxzz/xxxyz
.jpg "
see my earlier post below.
(*I just checked and the share get, bbcode doesn't work for me. Hmm. I'm an android user. )
I now use Google photos the
https://www.publicalbum.org/blog/embedd ... otos-image process, which Landslide brought to our attention. (this thread 12th Jan 21).

If I try to share from the
Flickr app (android) the instruction make no sense as far, a getting the correct url code.
but if I go to
Flickr.com the instructions make sense.
I hope some of this assists
Good luck cracking it

Shutuplegs, well spotted, I did look at the code by quoting post (the dismissing it), but I missed that as well.

Does this work?
Is there a way to share an image saved only on an iPhone and iCloud account?
Been around on BB long enough to make an effort to post pictures.

Yes the link works.
I take it all back. It’s not hard at all. The iCloud link self destructs in 15 days but that’s better than nothing.
Any ideas for making the actual picture appear in the post from an iPhone/iCloud?

The link has to be public and it has to be to the image itself, not the page it's located on. Typically if the link doesn't end in ".jpg" or another photo file format then you are linking to the page.
Simplest to use one of the various image hosting sites. Just remember to resize your images before uploading, no need for a 5Mb image on the web.

It’s just an iCloud link from my phone - how did you make the photo appear rather than the link in your reply?

Screenshot it.
Edged it.
Added it to imgur app (no need to resize hi res pics as I believe it does it for you).
Grabbed the url link from there and pasted it in between the image icon above in the tools bar of this here forum. When you click it this appears( [ i m g ].........[ / img ] )* and you just paste the url link where I've put the dots.
Took me about 3 years to 'get it' but it rwally is straightforward. Uses less words too (whats the sayin....?)
*I added lots of spaces to see if it wouldn't change it to an icon

Ahhh.... so it is complicated then
Why can’t you just drag and drop an image in?
Actually, don’t answer that, doubt I’d understand

Don't worry about it, if people want to see your bike they'll just have to ride to yours and look at it, I had to

Just post up with your iphone. I'm pretty certain someone will screenshot it and post it up. Especially since you're so busy

We do want to see your bike and the lovely places you've been (no blood and gore or 1% pay rises please)...

It's actually quite easy.
Someone, somewhere has to host (keep) the image in a public place. Images are typically expensive in terms of storage, a typical post on here is a couple of hundred characters long, your post is just 130 characters for example. An image, even a "small" one, is maybe four or five
thousand times bigger. If someone doesn't resize an image, i.e. make its file size smaller, then that image could be a hundred thousand times bigger. Hosting images that size also costs money.
Pushing an image to a dedicated photo hosting site really only adds one step to things: you drag and drop to the photo site then copy and paste the image's URI to here. Where people go wrong is that the copy the URI of the page not the image.

Have we done 'PrtSc'?
Is there a way to post a screen capture in a reply?
I am sure I have seen them posted so perhaps I have just not found the right combination of buttons to press.
