Was out again yesterday evening enjoying the 0.3 metre low tide. The low water level uncovered a neolithic (5000 year old) tree stump preserved in the sand (Googled it)

Did my regular local circuit - just over 20 miles, 80% off-road, bimble pace with a 20 minute stop to eat my cream cheese walnuts and apricot wrap at the top of a hill watching red kites and buzzard riding the thermals. Very very nice.

If you want to do halfway decent routes in the Chilterns, you can't avoid cheeky trails and encounters with walkers. Ive lost count of the times I've been helpfully informed that "you can't ride on this footpath" which is wrong because, evidently, I can.

No sign of grumpiness today, and I've never seen so many people out with their kids or walking their dogs. And everyone, EVERYONE, was being friendly, saying hello, stepping to one side ... it was almost surreal.

Aye on my perambulations, everyone has been dead friendly.
Today's constitutional was on the fixie that I threw together ten or so years ago, rode once, thought '**** that' and chucked in the back of the shed. I dragged it out this after, gave it a once over and did an 18 mile road circuit. Was actually quite taken with it once I'd got used to the weirdness of not being able to freewheel. In fact I might be tempted to sort it a bit and ride it more. Its currently sporting 18mm tyres which look like O rings after riding 29+ but the forks are too tight for out else....

I've been doing more cheeky trails and it's been great. People generally OK, although a few with headphones can't hear me or the bell so have to pass too close. It's really beautiful out at the moment, and blissfully dry. (below is not a cheeky trail).

A quick loop from home to check out a little loop that one of the local estates has created in some of their woodland but is open to the public. Some legal and some cheeky riding to get there. Can be ridden either way and is pretty easy - just under 2km and took about 9mins taking it steady.

Along the valley, including keeping up with a roadie!, then a big climb up road, BW and footpath to the top of the local hill.



Another bit of cheeky to get back to the road and then home.

Everything apart from about 50m of bog was bone dry, nay dusty!

I did what has become my daily ride, 1 mile to the nearest hill then up and down until I’ve climbed at least 1000ft, it’s been hard to resist going further afield in this nice weather but I’m hankering for some long distance remote fun..... with company

Well Tim n myself tried the Zoom-based static April bivvy, I'll bet you could come up with a way of using Zoom or whatever to facilitate an actual team ride . Hmmm... thinks....

Another vaguely exciting bimble around the local woods, this time in the rain with the smell of pine needles and freshness. Good splashy fun.
