Maybe Salsa could be convinced to hand out pie tokens to the HT550 starters like they apparently do for the TD starters?
Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
The person who comes home first will be the one who doesn't sleep.... Could be tight near the end

Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Watching Fraser M catching up and he is pretty good and the no sleep stints!

Only 4 scratched so far. Usually the field would be thinned out by now.

Just commented about that here at home. Phil and Stu at the river crossing now. Good to see so many near the front, could help for a fast time.slarge wrote:Only 4 scratched so far. Usually the field would be thinned out by now.

I bumped into Phil Addyman in Ullapool Tesco. Talk about a man on a mission!!!! It's hard to explain just how focussed he was in getting in, getting food and drink, using the toilet and getting out again.

Where do we stand on floating across on a panda? Would it be okay if the panda were available to all riders, bit like furry black and white ferry?
May the bridges you burn light your way
Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
I believe they are an endangered species so we shouldn't do that to them.Bearbonesnorm wrote:Where do we stand on floating across on a panda? Would it be okay if the panda were available to all riders, bit like furry black and white ferry?

2014: Phil Simcock 2:08:44
2015: Tom Roundtree 2:14:50
2016: Stuart Cowperthwaite 2:12:24
These 5 are really making a race of it this year. In the past it's been someone to get a lead and then keep it. Every hill top Stuart will be able to see everyone behind him

These guys n gals are somat else, where do they get their energy n focus from! Wish I was up there to see em come in

Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Fraser's resting up at Sheneval, ready for his trademark 32 hour sprint
A decent night near Kinlochewe could see someone home early Wednesday morning.
Liam - still going strong.

He was well off the pace at Ben Alder Cottage, but since then.........Where did Liam Glen come from

Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Liam has done an AlanG - slept well, kept quiet, then started motoring the HAB sections. Stunning, proper deep diesel mode coming I suspect.

Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Bearing in mind the guys at the front will be suffering mentally and physically now if they haven't been eating enough, which is easily done when you're trying to move fast, we could see the likes of Liam coming through.

Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Quite a race. Is the weather up there really as good as the BBC says it is?
Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Liam was up at first light - moving well before i got up at 5am it seems.
hes put quite the gap in since then - the other 4 seem to be moving now but they were still sound asleep at 5.

Liam's suddenly got a 45 min lead on all the rest - and they're still breakfasting at the Whistle Stop Café!
