Maybe you're right. But after today's ride (60 miles, Peaks, road) being the first since my wrist/nerve injury. The ride went OK but got home and it seems I'd maybe stretched it. A few times almost fell whilst using that hand for easy errands.

Very well said as always Stu and others. Yes, I really am convinced. Even got a £15 gym membership as it was £10 off for the month. Lol. Not sure what I'll do with it as most people ask me about not being a gym person.

Best psych myself up like Eddie Hall (the idiot... but they'd call us that!?) before he lifted half a tonne and had a mini stroke (kind of).

For me it's "trundle, trundle, just keep trundling along "

I'm woefully under prepared so it's all about moving efficiently and consistently following the magenta line

I really hope Stu has put Strata Florida in again this year seeing how much we all loved it. Would be nice to try it in the opposite direction :-bd

Can someone confirm the date of the BB200 please? My calendar says 12th October. I get a feeling I’m a week late…

Thanks.

That’s not the first rookie error of the day.

Well, I'm down by at least 2kg I reckon by now. Another 4kg and it'll take me to sub 80 I think. Hopefully that might be the straw that helped the camels back.

Very good.

Alas I'm going in the other direction, and have three nights in Paris between now and the BB300... :o

I just got back from 2 weeks of wallowing in Italy. Put on a stone and have done zero cycling (i did go out for a few runs).

Perfect training for BB200. Legs are more used to walking, and the extra body fat should keep me going at night and save me from hypothermia.

Reminds me, I've done almost no pushing practice this year. Going to be a real struggle!

Looks like I’m out, due to a ‘bike vs car’ when I was out yesterday. I’ve received a strong steer from home that ‘just seeing how I’m doing nearer the time’ isn’t the right approach after prolonged unconsciousness. ☹️ On the upside it does mean I’ll be cancelling my room at The Star if anyone needs somewhere to stay on the Friday night.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you're OK.

I had no idea The Star was doing rooms again, though I don't think I could ever return. Feels like I'd spoil good memories!

Potentially, I've come to realisation that I'm getting old and a bit of a lie in is conducive to a good day out on the bike

Having been signed off by the physio a couple of weeks back and riding pretty consistently again, I intended to ride a hike-a-bike heavy route yesterday for this very reason but my gear shifter stopped working on leaving the house—better there than mid-ride, I guess—so switched to a skinnier bike and chose a hillier route to ride instead: pushing remains an unknown. We'll see …

Barely touched the MTB this year and not done half as much riding as usual so it should be interesting. Looking forward to whatever it brings, it's always a good weekend

Was looking back in the thread as was sure I'd seen something but when/how do we confirm whether 200 or 300 route?

Anywhere that we can read about how and why 'substandard it was'. Ta
This is a photo of the top section where it was relatively calm. At this point there were times I struggled to figure out what the track and what was the river! Further down it became faster flowing and when I crossed holding my bike upstream of me it almost knocked me over and sent me flying so I started holding it the other side, just be the top tube as it pretty much floating by this point!
