What is the ladies record?
Lee Craigie - 3D 20H 53M

I think this edition is longer though? 560 miles vs 536 in 2018 miles, is that right?

That's some going, fair play to him :-bd

The battle for second is very tight!

Allen has gone past 450KM mark :-bd

Going to be a few tight finishing spots for the top ten now.

Kerry has a massive lead over Jenny (who’s book - Jenny - is well worth reading btw) :-bd

Hey Chris!
Yup Lee Craigies record was on the 'easy' version (irony) which was just shy of 550 miles. Same route that Neil Beltchenko got his record on in 2017. Current route around 3 hours longer in my times.

Looks like Allen is stopping at Suileag bothy tonight. Not a bad place to overnight. Looks like there's some light rain coming in overnight so a good decision.

Alex (Berry) is approaching Clunes, an hour or so before Ft William, and is about half an hour down on his 2022 time.

How much longer left for Allen then do you reckon Bob. Best guesstimates, with all being well and him not lounging too much... Thanks... Go Allen, go :-bd

Alex next, then Allan!
Shaff, it took me 3 days 5 hrs from Suileg to Tyndrum in 2015 - that was on a 2hour longer route in horrible weather and with an early finish on the second night.

My bet will be he'll stay in Sheneval bothy in Fisherfield tomorrow night, Dornie public loo Thursday night, Somewhere on the Great glen Way Friday, finish on Saturday. Or something

Allen is working to a plan of completing the HT550,
He's doing around 75 miles a day and 8 hours rest over night.
I estimate he'll finish at around 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon if nothing fails on route :-bd

Looks like Alex Berry has scratched - his dot is no longer on the map, the last ping was around Clunes, the ticker board shows him scratching around 2200 last night but the riders list isn't showing him at all.

Tyre and spoke issues means he's out. A shame as he's got to get to Ft William anyway and there's bike shops....

Isn't Lee's record 3 days 20 hrs 53 min (says in a post above) and the race clock is 3 days 23 hrs 31 mins so she's missed the record? Great ride though. Going under 4 days :-bd

That might have been one of her previous records as she broke her own record to set the current one?

Wasn’t it something like 4d2hrs when she finished alongside Javi and Ian? But she also did a fast time when she accidentally missed out the little loop around Achmelvich just before Lochinver. Or was that the same time?

Yes, that was the same event in 2017 when she was disqualified!

It's going to be a great race for second female between Jenny and Zoe!

That's a shame as he 2as going well.

Lee's record shouldn't really apply to this route so Kerry's will stand I'd say

What makes this version harder? Is going to Poolewe much slower than the postman's path? Other than that is there much difference?

We could say Neil's record shouldn't apply to this route... but it's been beaten 2 years in a row so that logic doesn't stand up.

I stopped in the same place - it took me just over 3 days to get back from there, but I suffered with heat one day, and had to bivi just before the end, instead of pressing on through the night (I was on a …just get to the end strategy by that point)

I've walked the path in from Poolewe to Carnmore and it's much easier than the Postman's path, just a few water bars to negotiate. I've not ridden the Tollie path so can't comment on that. I suspect the current route is just longer rather than anything else. This year Lars Henning is going at about the same pace as I was in 2017, he's taken 6hrs15 to go from Carnmore to Kinlochewe, I took 4hrs15 going via the Postman's path.

Alan used to have the current exit from Fisherfield as the "summer" route because of the bracken growth on the Postman's path, it tends to be just above ankle height around this time but probably gets up to waist height.

I'd have a guess at this year's route being around 3hrs slower than the route used in 2017/2018 - there's the extra loop at Rannoch, exiting Fisherfield and the lump just before Bridge of Orchy slowing things down.

The lump was in for 2018 (first year) and the GPX actually went round the monument at the top, it's based on Alan's ridden trace from planning so he must have ridden round it.

I pointed out to Alan that I had ridden round it as per the gpx (just for a laugh really as I spotted it) and that as far as I knew no one else had so I was the only finisher?

I liked the Postman's Path but it was 6 years ago so maybe the memories have faded
