Well, our cheap Karrimor jackets arrived today (Monday afternoon...not bad considering I ordered them on Sunday morning!). The down isn't going to win any quality awards, but considering the price, they're a bargain. Not light (760g medium), but definitely a keeper for general mucking about on the farm where I'd be worried to damage my Western Mountaineering or PHD stuff.

Got the OL23 map which covers Mach and NE of Mach.

That's interesting, 'cos when we did the Radnor Ring, you were rubbish with the map reading and I had to take over

Field&Trek have got 30% off various lines until Sunday ... the discount gets applied at the checkout, so the price on the site is less 30%.
At the moment you could get a Karrimor down gillet for £17.50. I managed to get some Terra Nova goretex over mitts for less than £20 (rrp is £45). Terra Nova Adventure tarps also have 30% off.

It's not exactly going to be stunning quality, but I've been looking for some cheap camping stuff for the family, and less than £60 for a family tent, two double airbeds, one double & two single sleeping bags and a lantern, ain't too bad

At least it means my nice quality kit won't get trashed on the family trips.
