I have both XTs and XTRs (and SLXs actually).

You really can tell the difference in quality XT to XTR. Can't comment on braking performance yet though.

I ended up winning some swag from Singletracks 7th day of christmas. Walked away with a T shirt, a K-edge Garmin mount (don't own a Garmin though), energy bars/gels and a few stickers :)

29er Crud Guards. Been using 26" ones but the rear is just too short. Would be nice to not be using any at all. Still, the evenings are getting lighter, summer is on it's way... :D

I'd be interested to know how well they work. I tried my 26er one on my 29er and it was a waste of time.

Went out for nearly 20 miles tonight on damp roads and they seem to work. Front isn't amazing (down tube guards never are) but the rear is a real improvement.
My 26" guards were 6 years old. The new front guard is longer and wider and the rear 29er guard is a good 6" longer so it makes all the difference. I'll give it a proper go off road in the next few days and give you a proper verdict...

I have never used a good down tube mud guard. The Mucky nuts or the neo guard/old inner tube for the front for me. Thanks for the update.

I'm looking for a new compact camera. Stopped carrying my DSLR everywhere now and my current compact is woeful. Would be interested how you get on with it. I have been looking at one for a little while now in a similar price range (can't for the life of me remember what it is right now, I have the links at work...)

This replaces my Lumix LX3, which is a lovely camera but a touch big for riding. My hope is the Sony will give me comparable picture quality, but in a smaller size. It also has panoramic features and longer zoom too, which the LX3 doesn't have

I've got the Canon S100 (the older version of the one in the link below).

It's a great camera. I paid well over £200 for mine.
