Sold out now by the looks of it sorry - they were on the NeedleSports' site. There was a PSA on here for slightly cheaper ones on SportsShoes not long ago, it'd be worth a search generally as like bikes it seems there's a lot of discount outdoor gear around at the mo.redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 3:50 pmGot a link pls James?jameso wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 1:02 pm A current AW22 Montane Prism jacket at 50% off in a sale and I'm really impressed. Always liked Montane kit but the current Prism really is excellent. The hood design and generous arm length in particular (arms longer than the size M Fireball I bought a few yrs ago, my go-to bikepacking trip jacket). Warmer than I expected too.

Thanks James. Yes, I think I'd seen the Prism on offer but wasn't sure and the endorsement from yourself has ticked the box for me. I did buy one, but as a gift for my mate who did LEL (he does alot of charity bike riding and other projects, so well worth it) but he's not really a jacket connoisseur - hence why I bought him a legendary jacket to try and bring him into this dept of things

A load of Éliane Radigue and Kali Malone vinyl.

a pair of proper Ton proof handbuilt wheels from Spa cycles.
just the feel of them in my hands compared to the machine built wheels from superstar, makes me feel i made the correct choice.

Re: The post man's been ...
I got a yellow one from Sportshoes in same size as the Icarus I'd also bought recently (xl). Given they are supposed to have the same "fit" (active mountain) I was suprised at the difference in sizing (Prism being much larger, relatively). Consequently got a L Prism and that's the "right" fit, for me. Sadly in the time it took I ended up with the previous colour scheme and paid more than they had been going for but mleh, you win some / you lose somejameso wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 1:02 pm A current AW22 Montane Prism jacket at 50% off in a sale and I'm really impressed. Like it though not used properly yet.
The Icarus is also lovely but that bit heavier and bulkier that I'd not consider carrying it.

Thanks Tim... what you were sayin is that these are true to size but the Icarus isn't, right... Packable is just what I need and the yellow (though a bit more) looks spot on... Best go and convince the missus that I needs oneCheeky Monkey wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 12:05 pm Shaf:

SKS Bluemel 75 U long arrived from bike24. Quite speedy considering. BUT - box was practically open, all the bits loose inside and cardboard packaging open. Look to have all the bits though. But as i've heard others before, the stays are way too short for a 29er, so need to spend extra for some long ones, which is pretty crap.

Re: The post man's been ...
Postie brought a pair of DHB riding trousers, £90 down to £30 and an 11-48 10 speed cassette for about £16... Both in the chainreaction sale.
The cassette looks ridiculous, but will mean that all the bikes in the house except for the tandem are Shimano 10 speed so nice easy spares

I got them from an ebay store. Not super cheap but a) they were the only place I found them and b) 29er semi-skimmed tyres all seem to be rare as hen's teeth and pricy.redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 11:06 amWhere from the 2.6 please Paul. Was they cheap or super high?

Mart... if you're on about the Brand X... It might be cheap, but it's definitely not a 'cheapo'

Copy of the latest Bikepacking Journal. Had a quick flick through and looks very good, plus a nice feature on the Old Chalk Way
Re: The post man's been ...
Postie brought what looks like a giant boomerang, and I'm hoping is another pair of stooge bars (as my fs bike feels wrong with "normal" bars on it now)
