Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
I appreciate it's now Monday but this made me very cheery (as you can see), so we're half way there. Yesterday I went to meet Ettive and Fynne. Lovely they are and hopefully one of their offspring will be residing at the Towers sometime around the end of the year.

May the bridges you burn light your way

Irish Wolfhounds or Lurchers? Lovely looking things

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Now they are nice dogs, my old man has a beautiful cream white lurcher I believe he’s wolfhound cross, big fella.

I think he’s beautiful as athletic while my wife thinks he’s skinny and scruffy........

That’s a horrid thing to say, he might be big but he’s a real softie. Hopefully he won’t see your post

He looks lovely Steve ... he'd be black as a bag within 2 minutes if he lived here

Much the same in Oxfordshire, he gets told off by my mum, the look in his face is tragic, such a softie, unless he see a rabbit or Muntjacs then he off like the wind. He’s from proper working stock, originally he was owned by travelers but only caught enough to feed himself, my old man saved him from the chop. He stands close to my hip height (stop it Reg!) but like a typical lurcher is just a big hippie indoors.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 5:40 pm He looks lovely Steve ... he'd be black as a bag within 2 minutes if he lived here![]()

In sunflower news, ours seem to have topped out at about 4', 4/6 have germinated and survived to full growth, and... We have a flower!

Blimey Chris that's a good flower there. Wasn't going to post another of mine until they flowered but I think I might nip out and measure them. I'm sure there's a giant lurking at the top somewhere....
...7'5"! Are they meant to do that?!

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Just spoken to a friendly, helpful chap at Profabrics who was very happy to change my order from last night so I could get an extra zip to fix my old frame bag along with the bits for a new one. Waived the extra quid or so as well. Having come up against some fairly incompetent companies in sourcing welding kit recently, this was a nice surprise.
Also nipped to the plumbers' merchant's early this morning and had a nice wee ride along the quayside. Bought me and her a chocolate and hazelnut croissant each on the way back too

Saw your dog pics on Facebook last week Stu - lovely looking pair. Yours too Steve. While we're doing scruffy long dog pics:

Perhaps we need a separate "yay, scruffy long dogs" thread. Other dogs also welcome.
Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Not so cheery
Was planning to take 2 of my kids to the BTCC (and other racing)at Donington this weekend, and had planned to camp/kip in the van with them which is inside the circuit. The government in their wisdom have just deemed it elite sport so no spectators. It's not a stadium, it's a track and everyone drives. Never mind
Very cheery
Going to the Peak District with them instead and will take the bikes with us. Will head out for a pootle along the Monsal Trail and around Carsington Water. Hopefully the weather continues on like this. Not the weekend I'd planned but still a good one!
