There are some great trails over in the Llanbedr Hill and Radnor Forest area but they're too far from your place for my little legs on a WRT weekend!
I can remember probably 15 years or so ago doing an event in Radnor Forest (where are the trees?), I think it was called the Tomac 100, put on by John Lloyd and Ron Bevis. It ripped my legs off, they're still aching now!!

Anywhere that might be nice to bivvy in the Strata Florida / Llyn Brianne area?

There's no shortage, just ride until you see somewhere nice - it won't take long. Obviously there's 'bothy draw' to contend with in that area, so best we say no more.

Current plan is road blast down to LLwyn-on on the Saturday, stay over with a few mates in the bunkhouse, try not to get too p!ssed. Then Sunday/Monday off road it back north via Llandovery, maybe bivi somewhere around Trallwm, Carnau northbound Monday morning, breakfast at Elan visitor centre, then over Esgair Perfedd, up to Llangurig, round the west side of Llyn Clywedog and back to Stu's lair. 278km, 5099m ascent. Then four days off the bike until the Spanish C2C...

If anyone is in Rhayader, I'm currently at the triangle and heading to the cornhill after I'm done eating.

There are two bike packers at lamb and flag, but I think they've hidden in their rooms

I think Tussock Deathmarch is the name of the guest ale in the pub (and, if it's not, it should be!).
