Am I reading this right it's just the extra metal bracket that has broken a couple of times?
Should I buy one quick before they have to take them off the market?

Yeah I'm reading that as the silver steel brackets have snapped not the actual rack ... bizzare that they're recalling the racks but not cages ... 2 racks break = recall, quite a few cages snap = nowt?
I'd certainly have another one.

I emailed Ison yesterday about my cages, see what they say... if anything!

I suppose if you have the rack front mounted with that strap and it breaks then you get quite a decent over the bars incident! Wonder why they don't just send stronger straps out to eveyone though

This does seem odd. Im guessing it has something to do with US law and recalling the whole product.restlessnative wrote:Wonder why they don't just send stronger straps out to eveyone though

I don't use the straps to mount mine. Just put a bolt straight through the rectangular boss on the rack and through what would be the canti mount on the forks ... job done.
