looking for a (no so) light weight tent

Post by gairym »

afternoon folks,

after a week offline (bloody weather!) i'm back online and have an off-topic(ish) question for you all.....

i'm looking to get a huge 4-6 man tent (not for bikepacking duties) and wondered if anyone on here knows of somewhere to find one which won't fall apart straight away but which is also not uber-expensive.

something that has a main vestibule and two little rooms would be ideal.

any thoughts....?

thanks, gairy.

also just so you know - I hate these tents!

it's not for us it's for the wwoofers (organic farm volunteers - not some weird sexual thing) we'll have staying with us over the summer now that our daughter has her own room (our spare room).

I've had a couple of nice ones in recent years that haven't leaked and have stood up well for weeks on end touring/holidays. Both need replacing now though as we dumped the Sprayway in France last year and i packed away the khyam wet 18 months ago.....

Khyam winnipeg 6 - snug for 6 adults but some nice features.
Sprayway Valley 6- Huge and very heavy but very well made.

You can't go wrong with Decathlon ones though if it's value for money you're after.

How about someting like this - http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk/jamet ... -tent.html

I've had/got a couple of Jamet tents ... they're very well made but pretty much unheard of.
May the bridges you burn light your way
