Anglesey weekend

I'm thinking of taking a weekend to circumnavigate Anglesey in the next couple of weeks. Trying to use as much trail, bridleway as I can, possibly using the coastal path a bit too.
The plan so far is leave Bangor on Friday evening, and head to Newborough for the night. Saturday head round the coast with the aim of reaching the Amlwch / Benllech region for a camp. Then on Sunday carry on heading back round to Menai Bridge / Bangor .
Unfortunately I don't have a fat bike, so can't ride the beaches.
Anyone care to join me, or impart advice at least?

Yeah quite a lot of it. There are some bridle ways in there but not many. How 'frowned upon' is riding the odd bit of foot path ? Obviously giving way to peds and being particular polite etc

Difficult to say and everyone will have their own opinion ... my opinion is, I'd steer clear of a popular, fairly high profile waymarked path.

Hmmm unfortunately when getting round Anglesey that means riding the beaches on a fat bike (which I don't have) or sticking to roads (which is boring). There's very few bridle ways after Newborough going clockwise.

Don't take this the wrong way ... but you say that like it's some kind of excuse. If there's nowhere there to ride, ride somewhere else

The small parts of the coastal path look very hike a bike to me, coastal paths tend to be steep.

I've gone around the island over a weekend but was on a fat bike, so took in many of the beaches. I'd be happy to road tour the island though as the scenery is stunning

Mid week would be best in my opinion as you can see the RAF activity The pub on Red Wharf bay is excellent, great food and good ale

It's not an excuse, just a shame. Would have been nice as the scenery etc is lovely.

That looked like a great trip Simon.

Certainly was, highly recommend it. Hoping to do the same again next spring. Its a lovely island to tour, although not many cafes!

Train transport there is also spot on, so no worries about leaving at car etc
