Primaloft/Down - not soled, so smaller to pack
Any recommendations?
I get cold feet sleeping even at home.

Re: Booties to sleep in
I have some from Kathmandu.
Hard wearing sole but fully rollable with a fleece upper.
I did need to make an insole from a piece of ccf to stop the cold from the bothy floor leeching up my legs.
Not sure if they still stock them though.

I like the Montbell booties...I run around the apt. with 'em on all the time. The others may be warmer.

I managed to acquire a pair of PHD minim sock things a while ago. Very Nice and light too.
One point, if your feet are cold going in, down doesn't really warm them up very quickly in my experience.
Mine spend most of their time on my wifes feet in my living room

+1 for PHD socks; make my ultra light bag tolerable all year round, and I have rubbish circulation to my feet.

When it's colder I carry a spare set of merino socks (the old black On One ones were brilliant.
You also have a spare pare of socks in case you need them (double-duty see

For longer trips I do carry a pair of spare socks too, light but warm teko ones generally. I wear them at night and then to ride in on the last day.

Re: Booties to sleep in
I have some Outdoor Designs fleece 'hut booties' that do have a sole, don't wear them to sleep in but brilliant for bothies ... maybe they should have been called Bothy Creepers?
May the bridges you burn light your way
