Winter shoes - not boots

Post by DrMekon »

I'm sick of feeling like I've got ankle weights on when wearing my Shimano winter boots. Happily, the neoprene sock tore away from the tongue as I removed them this weekend. After 5 years service, I feel like I have done my time and can't face repairing them. Recommendation for a winter SPD shoe that offers good trudge-ability?

GoreTex approach shoe.
Thousand mile socks for the walking bits.
Breathable gaiters for very wet/muddy conditions - allows you to dab your foot in deeper water/mud.
I use shoe sock combination all year.
Might try Sealskinz socks this year.
Zazen - nothing happens next this is it.
