Jockey wheels

Any recommendations for replacement jockey wheels?

The stock ones in my 9 speed SLX mech have had it.

I did use the search but this topic (unsuprisingly?) didn't generate much response previously. The boards grown since then though, bring on the opinionated!

I have to replace mine soon as ill be buying either the bbb or tracx ones I think the bbb are better though as got serviceable bearings. There are about a tenner

I'd stick with Shimano from experience. Might fit the higher spec ones from XT though.

As Mike has mentioned i've heard that the Tacx ones from Decathlon are good for the money (not tried them myself yet though)...

I've been through a fair number of jockey wheels over my time

Those tacx ones I've used a fair few times, and commend them.

I use these days the "mt zoome bullet proof" ceramic jobby's. http://www.xcracer.com/shop/viewproduct ... ductid=231

Trick with both is to use the correct size shim. I actually go for the narrowest setup I can get away with (I tried widest once, that didn't work).

I had to replace the jockey wheels on my xt mech, due to impact damage. My lbs recommend I pay a little more and get metal ones. They clean really easily, and don't gunge up half as much as the original wheels. This will hopefully lead to less drive train wear, and better shifting in the long term.

They make a different sound to the usual shimano ones, but you don't notice it after a while.

Another for Mt Zoom, although I don't think they will work with XX1, which wear out very quickly.

Err not to show my ignorance... but some jockey wheels have 10 teeth, some 11... does it matter?

Guide wheel size is important, tension pulley - not so much. Just replace like for like though.

Oh cheers! I did try googling and it was a bit confusing (14 teeth? Completely round jockey wheels? etc)

Those Mt Zoom ones look well spiffy I have to say!
